Short Answer
Has your campaign addressed the topic of illegal immigration in speeches, commercials, ads, or campaign materials? What are those messages? (Please provide sources or examples)
My position paper on illegal immigration is extensive, but a thumbnail sketch is found below from my answer to the Reno Gazette Journal/News 4 election guide questionnaire.
The effort to control illegal border crossings since the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act has failed. The reason for this failure is a lack of enforcement of existing immigration laws combined with easy access to taxpayer funded benefits. We should not give unfair rewards to those who disregard U.S. law to enter the United States. Any temporary worker program must put American citizens first, then those who comply with U.S. immigration law should be given consideration. Illegal workers in this country must be required to return home and apply for the legal temporary worker program.
I have also addressed this issue in campaign materials, sometimes with detail as above and sometimes as a bulleted “Enforce all immigration laws.
What do you feel your opponent’s stance on illegal immigration or immigration reform is or would be?
Based on his voting record and his statements, Harry Reid cannot be counted on to enforce existing immigration laws.
Have you been endorsed by or received contributions from any other immigration reform or illegal immigration reduction groups at this time? Not presently.
Would you openly accept an endorsement and or contribution from ALIPAC?
Yes
