Justice at Last: Rachel Morin's Illegal Alien Killer Finds Out His Harsh Destiny

You know the names: Jocelyn Nungaray, Laken Riley, Rachel Morin. They were often highlighted during the 2024 presidential campaign as emblems of just how cruel and despicable former President Joe Biden’s “let them all in” border policies were.

They were all murdered by people who should never have been allowed to set foot in our country. But they aren’t just names—they were people. Living, breathing Americans who had their lives savagely stripped from them, leaving heartbroken loved ones and shattered lives.

On Monday, thankfully, justice was finally handed down to one of the killers: Rachel Morin’s sick attacker, El Salvador native Victor Martinez-Hernandez. He has now been jailed for life for first-degree murder, first-degree rape, and kidnapping for the horrific August 2023 attack on the 37-year-old mother.

We hear far too much in the mainstream media about sob stories of gang members and criminal illegals and not enough about their victims.

God bless Rachel, @PattyMorin, and the Morin family.

We have, unfortunately, become so accustomed to reading about soft-on-crime judges in this country who routinely let out violent criminals instead of locking them behind bars where they belong. In this case, however, a jurist actually got it right:

A judge sentenced him to the maximum sentence, life without the possibility of parole, another life sentence, and an additional 40 years in prison on Monday.

Harford County State Attorney Alison Healey described Martinez-Hernandez as 'completely and entirely unamenable to treatment or rehabilitation' as she requested the harshest possible sentence on Monday.

'If he is released our community is in grave danger ... It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when,' she told the court.

Sometimes, there is no hope for rehabilitation: evil is simply evil and must be dealt with accordingly:

The judge agreed, telling Martinez-Hernandez: 'You are not a candidate for rehabilitation. There is simply no hope to rehabilitate you. 'You took a life that was not yours to take. Your acts not only brutalized a young woman but also terrorized a community. The Ma & Pa Trail is a place of beauty ... your acts turned that into a place of terror.'

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement—ICE—is routinely bashed in the mainstream press as some sort of authoritarian force. But unlike so many Democrats and mainstream "journalists," they actually show compassion for the victims of entirely preventable violent crimes:

Rachel Morin was stolen from her family by a reprehensible criminal alien who never should have been in this country in the first place.

Our hearts are with the Morin family and all families of those who have lost a loved one to illegal alien crime. Because of them, we will never lose sight of our responsibility to protect and serve the American public.

In the world of politics, one can get lost in the back and forth between the poisonous modern Democrats and their incendiary rhetoric and the policies and the “messaging,” and one can forget that at the heart of the matter, there are people. Lives affected, families destroyed, hearts broken.

What Joe Biden and his acolytes did with the border was so craven, so pernicious, that it’s tempting to just chalk it up to political gamesmanship. But it’s more than that: he wanted more Democrat voters, and he didn’t care who got savagely murdered in the process.

That is his legacy, as much as anything.

Today’s ruling won’t bring Rachel Morin back, or reunite her five children with their mother, but it’s nevertheless welcome news for people who are tired of watching our country turn into a violent cesspool with no accountability.

I hope your lifetime stay in prison is a deeply unpleasant one, “Mr.” Martinez-Hernandez. My only regret is that because of our just Constitution, there isn’t a deeper punishment for you.

God will hopefully take care of that.
