Grieving mother outraged after being charged $50 to clean up her son's BLOOD from highway where he was struck and killed by drunken driver

Loretta Robinson, of South Carolina, was crushed when she received the news that her son was killed by a drunken driver. But that was not the end of her suffering.

Not long after the tragic accident, she was issued a bill for the cost of cleaning up her son’s blood from the road.

A coroner called Robinson last June and told her that her oldest son, Justin Walker, died when his car was struck by a drunken driver on White Horse Road in Greenville, the TV station WYFF reported.

‘I never would have imagined getting that call,’ she tearfully recalled. ‘Never in one million years expected that.’

On Tuesday, the driver, Anna Gonzalez, tearfully entered a guilty plea for causing the fatal accident as Robinson looked on, a button with her dead son’s photo pinned to her pink shirt.

The grieving mother then showed the judge the many bills she has had to pay in connection with the accident scene, even though her son was not at fault.

Robinson said she paid to have the wrecked car stored for months, in case there was a trial.

‘I had to pay to have the vehicle towed,’ she said. ‘I had to pay for the vehicle removed and to clean up the street from Justin's blood on the ground.’

Mrs Robinson said that was the bill that stung the most – paying $50 to have the street washed.

‘First of all, having to open the mail and look at the charge to the deceased, Justin Darryl Walker -- the deceased! It's just a hard thing to deal with in the context of your child,’ she said.

Robinson said she has had a hard time working because of the emotional effects of the accident, and having bills keep on arriving when she has no income is very frustrating.

The State Office of Victims Assistance has provided Robinson with some money, but it mainly covers funeral, medical and counseling expenses.

Robinson said she does not expect she will get a dime from Gonzalez, who has been sentenced to 17 years in prison.

Although Gonzalez was an illegal immigrant that has lived in the U.S. for 12 years, she has never obtained a South Carolina driver's license.

‘We have to be able, as a country, to figure out a way with people here who are illegal and commit crimes,’ Robinson said.

Maybe Cher or some of her limousine liberal buddies would like to pick up the tab since they support having illegal here. But then THEY don't live in the real world.

Another good American citizen struck down by an illegal foreign national that should not have been here at all.

I can't imagine the pain this mom felt and then the added insult by the local government is over the top.

If this were reversed, and the illegal alien had killed the American Citizen, would the illegal alien have to pay to clean up the Citizen's blood?

And the illegal will not serve 17 years but less. They better deport her butt after her sentence.

I think she should send the bill to the consulate of whatever country Anna Gonzales came from. The foreign consulates have popped up like mushrooms to advocate for the rights of their citizens that they encourage to "migrate" here. Maybe they should be responsible for the damages that their citizens cause.

Apparently the alien without drivers license was without insurance, too. I f the road clean-up was to be billed to a driver it should have been billed to the one causing the accident and/or their insurance company. It may also indicate that something pertinent to the story is incomplete. Maybe both vehicles involved were uninsured?

However, I cannot imagine billing blood clean-up to a deceased family. What does gasoline taxes and vehicle taxes pay for if not road maintenance. Was it a state or county or city billing for clean-up? Whatever entity it was should not be forgiven though for billing a trivial $50 for such a trajedy.

This jury members opinion. Since the fault belongs to a drunk illegal alien, the bill belonged to federal taxpayers for allowing the federal gov't to not enforce the laws of the nation. Since the trivial billing caused unnecessary pain and suffering, the alien caused unnecessary pain and suffering, what do you other jury members believe would be a fair award for pain and suffering?

My suggestion, one-half billion dollars -- if it costs, with other similar deaths, taxpayers enough maybe we can get sense out of Washington!

Their crimes begin at the border and Justin Walker lost his life to an illegal alien who was drunk and driving. How did she buy a vehicle?
