    Wrong-Way Wreck Closes Freeway

GRAPEVINE, Texas - A wrong-way driver caused a crash that closed a Grapevine freeway for hours late Sunday night.

About 11:10 p.m., Grapevine police responded to an accident on southbound Highway 121, just south of Freeport Parkway.

They found a green Chevy Blazer had collided head-on with a white Toyota. An adult male was pinned in the SUV, while an adult woman was trapped in the car. Firefighters had to cut both victims from their cars.

The man was taken by CareFlite to Parkland Hospital, while the woman was flown to Harris Methodist Hospital.

The all southbound lanes of Highway 121 were closed for about three hours while officers investigated the accident. It was reopened in time for morning rush hour.

At this point, it's not clear, which driver was driving the wrong direction, or if alcohol was involved. Grapevine police are expected to release more information soon.

A Plano woman has died from injuries suffered in a wrong-way wreck on Texas 121 in Grapevine that shut down the highway briefly late Sunday.

Jingwen Yang, 61, was driving south in the southbound lane of the 4000 block of 121 shortly after 11 p.m. when her Toyota sedan was struck by a Chevrolet sports utility vehicle driving north.

Yang was taken by helicopter ambulance to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where she died from her injuries Monday, Grapevine police spokesman Todd Dearing said.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 29-year-old Denton man identified by police as Alfredo Landin Perez, was taken by helicopter ambulance to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, police said.

He was arrested on a preliminary charge of intoxication assault, which was upgraded to intoxication manslaughter after Yang's death, Dearing said.

As of Tuesday morning, Perez was reported to be recovering and remains in police custody at the hospital, Dearing said. Bail has been set at $5,000, Dearing said.

The highway was shut down for a short time to allow Careflite to pick up the injured drivers, police said.

"The driver of the Chevrolet, a 29-year-old Denton man"

This jerk is no Denton man, the press got orders from above to use this terminology, I swear to God, I don't believe the news would report like this.

Call a spade a spade. THis guy is illegal.

    5000 bail for killing someone?
You cannot dedicate yourself to America unless you become in every
respect and with every purpose of your will thoroughly Americans. You
cannot become thoroughly Americans if you think of yourselves in groups. President Woodrow Wilson
