Assemblywoman Vicky Flynn breaks down what Gov. Mikie Sherrill said at her July 21st press conference on New Jersey's voter registration scandal — and what she left out.

In this episode: The vendor's account — Idemia is telling reporters the data was always correct and always available to the state. At no point was a noncitizen marked as a citizen in their database. So who made the decision to register them?

The 35,152 gap—DHS identified 35,152 noncitizens on NJ voter rolls. Sherrill disclosed 6,600. The gap of nearly 29,000 has never been explained. The $20 million legal fund—the same budget that cut senior property tax relief and left school districts underfunded found $20 million in taxpayer-funded legal defense for the noncitizens caught up in the scandal.

The voter ID vote—Assemblywoman Flynn sponsored a Republican amendment to add voter ID to the Voter Empowerment Act earlier this year. Democrats blocked it with the bare minimum votes needed. Now the Governor says she supports voter ID. Democratic legislative leaders have said nothing.

The Bergen County door—Republican canvassers knocked on a door and found a green card holder registered to vote who never signed up and had no idea she was on the rolls. Her registration may not even be connected to the known MVC error.

All 23 Assembly Republicans have demanded a Special Legislative Committee—bipartisan, with subpoena power, witnesses under oath, findings made public. Speaker Coughlin still hasn't answered. Subscribe for new episodes every Tuesday.
