The move would impact about 1,600 suspected noncitizens in Virginia that are on the voter rolls

Virginia GOP officials requested on Monday that the U.S. Supreme Court permit the state to remove suspected noncitizens from the voter file.
The state had attempted to remove about 1,600 suspected noncitizens but a federal judge blocked the move.
