William, I cross posted your article with your permalink to my blog "No Amnesty - GOT IT?" http://www.rogueriver.tzo.com/noamnestyblog.html

I have never been a "Me Too" sort of person but I find that I agree completely with SicNTiredInSoCal.

As for other posts in this thread... you are right. This is an issue of whether we want our country as it is constituted to survive or whether it shifts to socialism/communism.

<1>The current makeup of the Democrat party is neo-communist with the backing of Yellow Dog Democrats that will vote for ANYTHING or ANYONE that wears a Democrat label, regardless of how toxic they are for the country. Yellow Dogs generally are not politically educated beyond looking at the label DEMOCRAT. The Neo-Communist Democrats are not your grandfathers Democratic Party.

<2>The current makeup of the Republican party is of squishy moderate Country Clubbers that would rather switch than fight. They have been referred to as the Neo-democrat Republicans and they are backed by more moderates, some cross over democrats interested in a weak GOP, and the neo-com controlled mass media which has the same aim of controlling the makeup and policies of the GOP. Republican moderates will flip-flop back and forth across the aisle to vote with Democrats on comprehensive immigration reform (aka amnesty), other touchy-feely issues, and things like junk science global warming/cooling/change.

Illegal Aliens are seen as a new power base by both the Neo-Com Democrats and current squishy moderate GOP, so they are bidding against each other to gain favor. This is why we find very odd coalitions like AFL-CIO and the national Chambers of Commerce supporting illegal immigration through groups such as La Raza and ACORN. Big Religion (Catholic, Lutheran, and others) have a hand in the game supporting illegals.

In NY-23 we had a Democrat being opposed by a trojan horse liberal Republican (the Scuzz). Enter Hoffman, the CONSERVATIVE. The Republican (?) is way down in the polls so she endorses the Democrat. Hmmm This is behavior you never see from the Democrats. They have a "fall on your sword for the party" mentality when opposed by another Democrat. This illustrates why we need conservatives to oppose the current makeup of the Republican party as an opposition party or to replace them and retake the GOP. The GOP was always thought of as the home of the conservatives.

The blue blood aristocrat Rockefeller Republicans have been around for a long while, just biding time, quietly slipping candidates in as faux-conservatives like Juan McAmnesty, Lindsey Grahamnesty, Brownback, Craig, Domenici, Specter, and more (23 in all out of the senate majority party of the time). This is how we had a Republican majority congress with a Republican president that tried to force feed an amnesty for illegals with the near 100% total complicity of the Democrats. This is why we have a NAFTA agreement (Clinton and Bush supported) that businesses wanted so they could relocate to Mexico, China, and elsewhere. They see an ever expanding "green card" program as a solution to illegal aliens. Just give them a green card. No Problem.

The dual party system is almost dead as it is currently constituted. Throw them in the blender and you wind up with left and right wings of the New American Communist Democrat Party.

The only real opposition party is a Conservative Party which we saw being born this past November 3rd.

Lets Be Glad but not Over Confident

It was a great victory for non-Democrats and for conservative America. However, let us not gloat but, keep up the very long and difficult road to November 2010. Two wins in battles is not winning the war. I for one will remind all of the officials in my jurisdiction that this is just a small example of how the American people feel and have felt. The president and others have ignored the American people in their protests but, maybe now they had better think that we were not kidding. If they want their jobs in Nov. 2010 it is time to pay attention. ALIPAC, I am sure had a positive influence in the outcome but as ALIPAC indicated themselves there were many other issues besides immigration issues that have the American people really mad. Immigration and English are two of my pet peeves but so are the Socialization of our country and the trampling of our constitution.

I understood what you meant, and I appreciate it. I also know that the partisan issue is such a raw nerve right now, and such an effective hot button for the enemy that we must be really careful in how we address each other.

I had a an experience a while back which I would like to tell you about.

To make a long story short, I was in the principal's office with several teachers and faculty who were engaged in a heated political discussion. Needless to say, the blame was placed by each side to the other, and I wound up in a disagreement with a very nice teacher who happens to be a republican. We were unable to come to terms, so I left the room a bit angry and hurt. As I was walking down the hall I realized how destructive this behavior was (on both our parts) and turned back to talk to him again.

I went in, put out my hand to him, he took it and I said to him "This is wrong, and we all need to stop this blame game. Regardless of party affiliation we are Americans and must work together to resolve these things".

A week later he sent me an e-mail indicating that he had a heated argument with a democrat, and before it got completely out of control he remembered our earlier exchange and extended his hand and said the same things to the man that I said to him, and before he knew it they were having a constructive conversation, and realized just how much they were both on the same page. He thanked me for what I did that day and told me to keep on reaching out, and he would do the same.

I guess that's what I'm trying to say; the partisan politics we engage in plays right in to the hands of our destroyers, and we must guard against doing this at all costs. Thank you for your reply and your good work, and I hope I didn't offend you in any way.
Oh no problem, melena29! And YES, I wholeheartedly agree about the partisan politics. It has gotten so nasty out there, it's not right, especially on the internet. The things people say about each other and to each other on internet is just awful. And the press and media too. Disgusting. I'm so proud of you for taking the initiative to reach out the hand to the principal. What you did is a perfect example of how we unite our country, melena29.

    Keep up the good work.

Welcome aboard, JerryPeebles! It's great to have you here.

English is a big one for me, too. I am tired of finding myself stuck in the "Tower of Babel" everytime I go out to the mall. My granmother spoke a foriegn language, but only at home or when absolutely necessary to talk with her mother in public. No sense of entitlement there.

Anyway, good to see your voice!
