ALIPAC Report on Campaigns and Border Movie

    Friends of ALIPAC,

We are pleased to report that our organization had two very successful showings of Border in Charlotte and Cary, North Carolina last week. The film's creator, Chris Burgard, was well received and was given standing ovations after the shows.

In Charlotte, about 160 people attended. ALIPAC's William Gheen addressed the crowd and people took a lot of our promotional fliers and cards with them, when they left after the show. Special thanks to retired State Senator and ALIPAC founder, Fern Shubert for coming. Congresswoman Sue Myrick's office sent Alice Torres to view the movie as well. Talk show host Jeff Katz and WBT Radio did an outstanding job on this presentation of the movie.

In Cary, we had about 160 people for the first show and 50 people for a second showing. WPTF Radio and Show host Bill Lumaye did a great job promoting and speaking at the event.

William Gheen's address to the crowd and our promotional materials distributed at these shows have led to a wave of new supporters for ALIPAC.

Many existing ALIPAC supporters were at the shows as well and it was great to see our T-Shirts being worn on many of the attendees.

Special thanks to NC Listen, NC Voice, The Action Club, The Curtis Wright Show, The Allen Handleman Show, and the Lockwood Phillips Show for supporting these events.

This was a real team effort and it is a shame that the Charlotte Observer, Raleigh News and Observer newspapers did not promote the show or attend. This is how things work in NC, most of our problems with illegal immigration come from the fact that these two huge biased newspapers are not worth a flip!

    ----

Many thanks to each of you who took the time to screen your local candidates and vote last Tuesday.

ALIPAC and many of our allied organizations stirred Americans into action. Many of the candidates noticed the increased calls they were receiving.

While not all campaigns met with success, we are getting positive news from around the nation.

In Hazleton, Pennsylvania, the legendary Mayor Lou Barletta was under challenge for his support of strict immigration enforcement ordinances and the cost to the city to defend them.

    He won with flying colors!

In the city of Greeley, a pro illegal alien Mayor was swept from office by a challenger that promised to crack down on illegal immigration.

    Mayor Ousted!

In Prince William County (Virginia), the board's chairman, Corey L. Stewart (R), won easily on a vow to crack down against illegal immigrants!

We are still gathering information from around the country, so please let us know of any successes or failures for our issue in Tuesday's elections you are aware of.

We are happy to see these victories although ALIPAC did not launch any major offensives in these local races as we intend to do for the 2008 races.

ALIPAC will be launching our efforts to influence and assess the Federal campaigns next week. We have been working hard to prepare. You will receive more info soon.

I saw this film at the Helen Mills Theater in Manhattan earlier this year when Burgard screened it for hundreds of guests from anti-illegal immigration activists-including the families of 9/11 victims-and was amazed.

Notwithstanding some of the technical difficulties he encountered, I still thought this was the most remarkable, outstanding documentary I've seen this year.

Kudos to ALIPAC and Congressman Myrick for spreading the word!

    ~ THE BORDER MOVIE UNSENSORED

I can tell you after the time I've spent in Texas and Mexico, what you see is very, very true BUT I could have added to this film if I'd have known about it!!

Where are the producers? Are you ready for to make a second version? The battle still isn't over!

Well worth the investment and it should be a required viewing before Americans cast their next ballots!
    From the Border Movie:

I will not sell my country out ~ I WILL NOT!
I'd like to see that pride back in AMERICA!!!
