After 5:30pm EST and offices in DC are still open, at least the ones I've called. Usually they would have closed at 4:30pm, but they must be expecting the Nightmare Act vote this evening.

Keep calling after hours! Your "nation's guard" is still up.

NumbersUSA has a live feed of the House debate at
    http://www.numbersusa.tv/

H.R. 6497IH passed the House rules committee at 5:15pm.

Here is the text that passed the committee.

House to vote at 8:15pm; Senate will not vote until the House vote.

tomorrow WE may wake up as illegals.

The last word: illegal aliens are ILLEGAL!

Staffer says Shuler is undecided, though is opposed to amnesty in any form. I asked why he would possibly vote for DREAM Act in that case, he said and that some say DREAM Act is amnesty. 5:50 Eastern time.

Sounds like changes in the bill may win some over.

When I call the first thing I tell them is I am unemployed, and I don't have a permanent address because I move around, staying with different friends and relatives.

I just caught only the last minute of the House debate--what happened? Was it set aside for later?

I have been calling and calling, but cannot get through to most of these representatives though I did get through to a few! It is getting expensive--how on earth is anything reaching these people?

Just got this message from resistnet.com:

The first two cloture motions have failed (cloture on the motions to proceed to collective bargaining for firefighters failed 55-43 & the COLA for seniors failed 53-45. ).

Leader Reid announced that the remainder of tonight’s votes – cloture on the motion to proceed to DREAM and 9/11 – will be delayed until the House has completed consideration of DREAM
Act on their side. In addition, Reid said he’s still hoping to enter a
motion to reconsider the vote on the motion to proceed to DOD
Authorization. So for now things are in flux...
