Donnie Harrison to provide Sanctuary for illegals following murder of Wake Co. Deputy Byrd by illegals.

(Raleigh, NC) Following the national news revealing that two illegal immigrants are being held for the murder of Wake County Sheriff Deputy Ned Byrd on August 11, and calls from Senator Thom Tillis and US Senate candidate Rep. Ted Budd for more info about the immigration status of the suspects, GOP Wake County Sheriff Candidate Donnie Harrison has broken with his party to announce a reversal on his prior support for the 287(g) program to ABC-11.

Illegal immigrants who commit crimes like drunk driving, drug dealing, human trafficking, rape, robbery, and murder are now free to enter and leave the Wake County jail without fear of immigration law enforcement or ICE detainers, regardless of who wins the 2022 race for Sheriff. Murder suspects and illegal immigrants Alder Alfonso Marin Sotelo, 25, and Arturo Marin Sotelo, 29, have been charged with murder in the killing of Wake County Deputy Ned Byrd and were thankfully stopped and arrested on federal immigration detainers similar to the 287(g) program as they fled through Burke County.

The Raleigh, NC based national organization Americans for Legal Immigration PAC helped Republican Sheriff Donnie Harrison join the federal 287(g) program years ago after a drunk driving illegal alien, who had been in and out of Harrison's county jail without an ICE detainer or deportation, incinerated and killed a 39-year-old father and his nine-year-old son near Clayton, NC. Well-known stand-up comedian Brian Edward Kiley was also killed by one of Harrison's sanctuaried illegals in 2013.

Donnie Harrison was defeated by now outgoing Democrat Sheriff Gerald Baker, who canceled Wake County's participation in 287(g) to protect illegal criminals from deportation.

ABC11 now reports that Harrison's reversal aligns him with his opponent in the sheriff's race -- Democrat Willie Rowe. (View Source).
