William Gheen of ALIPAC is making a public bet that the recommendations of the a panel of consultants studying the admission of illegal aliens to North Carolina's Community Colleges is a political show designed to establish third party support for a politically unpopular position.

"I know that the consultants will advise Governor Purdue to allow illegal aliens into our Community Colleges," said William Gheen. "This thing is a political setup to provide cover for politicians, since approximately 80% of NC's voters do not want illegals in our colleges at all."

To display his confidence in his prediction, William Gheen publicly announces that if he is wrong and the consultants advise North Carolina not to admit illegal aliens into our colleges, he will contribute $250 dollars of his personal monies to the state house campaign of his nemesis Paul Luebke (D-Durham).

Notice of this wager is being distributed to NC media, state lawmakers, and the Governor's office. William Gheen and ALIPAC are credited with defeating college access for illegal immigrants legislation in multiple states including North Carolina.

Paul Luebke is considered one of the most liberal members of the NC General Assembly and has consistently supported benefits for illegal aliens, including the infamous HB 1183 "in-state tuition for illegal immigrants" bill defeated in 2005. Luebke has also opposed all immigration enforcement bills supported by Gheen and his organization ALIPAC.

"The recommendations of this panel are predetermined and this is nothing but a political show," said Gheen. "If I'm wrong I'll contribute $250 to my biggest opponent. The recommendation of this panel of consultants does not change the fact that the vast majority of NC citizens oppose any taxpayer benefits for illegal immigrants and lawmakers should listen to the wisdom of the public more than elitist professionals."
