Gheen Bets on NC Community College Consultant Outcome

Gheen Bets on NC Community College Consultant Outcome

    April 16, 2009

    CONTACT: William Gheen, 919-787-6009, williamg@alipac.us

William Gheen of ALIPAC is making a public bet that the recommendations of the a panel of consultants studying the admission of illegal aliens to North Carolina's Community Colleges is a political show designed to establish third party support for a politically unpopular position.

"I know that the consultants will advise Governor Purdue to allow illegal aliens into our Community Colleges," said William Gheen. "This thing is a political setup to provide cover for politicians, since approximately 80% of NC's voters do not want illegals in our colleges at all."

To display his confidence in his prediction, William Gheen publicly announces that if he is wrong and the consultants advise North Carolina not to admit illegal aliens into our colleges, he will contribute $250 dollars of his personal monies to the state house campaign of his nemesis Paul Luebke (D-Durham).

Notice of this wager is being distributed to NC media, state lawmakers, and the Governor's office. William Gheen and ALIPAC are credited with defeating college access for illegal immigrants legislation in multiple states including North Carolina.

Paul Luebke is considered one of the most liberal members of the NC General Assembly and has consistently supported benefits for illegal aliens, including the infamous HB 1183 "in-state tuition for illegal immigrants" bill defeated in 2005. Luebke has also opposed all immigration enforcement bills supported by Gheen and his organization ALIPAC.

"The recommendations of this panel are predetermined and this is nothing but a political show," said Gheen. "If I'm wrong I'll contribute $250 to my biggest opponent. The recommendation of this panel of consultants does not change the fact that the vast majority of NC citizens oppose any taxpayer benefits for illegal immigrants and lawmakers should listen to the wisdom of the public more than elitist professionals."

Citizens take your kids out of colleges supporting illegals.

I pray that you are wrong William. If the board makes this turn-coat decision, perhaps the Americans that are against illegals being given opportunites in our country via our tax dollars, should take their children out of any NC colleges that support this policy.

I don't think these consultants know what kind of backlash there is going to be to their unpopular recommendations today after the violence at UNC the other night conducted by illegals and their supporters.

You are absolutely correct on this point, we ALL know that Bev Perdue LOVES her illegals. I'll be ready to fight this too

    Pro-Illegal Alien Tricks

North Carolinians cannot allow their governor to use this common pro-illegal alien trick. My governor did this in NJ. Gov. Corzine cherry-picked pro-illegal alien members for his blue ribbon “immigrantâ€

    Raleigh N & O buries story on "consultants' report&

The N&O put a small story by AP in their web edition about the "report" that runneth over with all kinds of happyspeak about how charging illegal aliens out-of-state tuition is going to result in all kinds of wonderful "profits" to the state to the tune of $1,600 per full time student per two semesters. As if they really would charge out-of-state tuition anyway, given their established track record of ignoring the laws and catering to illegal alien students with free instruction anyway. This AP story went largely unread due to the UNC-CH / Tancredo debacle attracting so much reader attention and the N&O has now killed the link to it with a 404 error. The fix is in and W. won't have to cough up $250 to Luebke.
