They can attend college in their own countries. If they are from Mexico I've heard that college is FREE there. Think of what a great asset they would be for their own home countries!

    Welcome, Dolemite.
First, if they are illegals that came here as kids, we have already paid for their primary education. Should we now deny some kid of a US or legal immigrant tax-payer from another state a college education here because the out-of-state tuition is out of reach?
No matter how Americanized these kids are, they are still foreign nationals and should not be treated to in-state tuition.
If they wish to pursue higher education, they need to pay like any foreign student does. Just because they have been here, and if their parents took no steps to legalize them, they should receive no priority consideration as far as tuition rates.
What this board has done is "aiding and abetting."

This story really disgusts me. Down here in Baton Rouge we were denied access to a meeting months ago by our own police officers and union members, seems like NC plays the same BS.

Politicians need to realize that the sleeping silent majority is slowing awakening and will wreck havoc on them if their voice is continuously silenced. This is not a call to riot but this a call for Americans to stand up before this country is taken out from under us. Our ancestors have defended this country from outside threats but now it seems the threats have infiltrated our govt.

We have had the same sort of problem here in Massachusetts where Governor Patrick policy solutions are organized by a group called MIRA Coalition which is the illegal aliens lobby but claims to be representing all immigrants. They claim Massachusetts has 1,250,000 immigrants and 80% are legal and that all should be treated the same. Logically that has to mean the legal immigrants only get 80% of what they would be allotted by citizen voters for immigrant support if there was enforcement. The state government agencies are sending 20% to the illegal when it should be limited to the law abidding.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

    Dolemite,

Not all of us are but Bill Gheen the owner of the ALIPAC board that the rest of us post messages to each other on definitely is and even those of us who favor access at out of state rates do not like the way that the process described was handled.

The meeting smells to high heaven as far as provable pro-illegal preference. But the outcome, which seems to be the sixth reversal of the in-state tuition stance for illegals, will be resulting in scarce seats sold for cheaper, just for the budgetary convenience of interlopers with no right to be in this country.
How many folks that have been laid off and would like to study a new skill, only to have to compete with illegal aliens for class space? They are already having poor luck competing with illegals in many sectors of the job market.

No, they're perfectly free to attend college in their own countries. They're here illegally, and since that means they have no right to be here, they should not be allowed to attend college or anything else in this country, especially at taxpayers' expense.

Wouldn't "preferential treatment," be considered "Conflict of Intrest"?
