This is a major concern for each of you in every state and we need all ALIPAC national activists to respond quickly and fervently, while the ball is in our court!

NC Precedent Could Affect Other States If You Take Action!

Thanks to your prior calls, e-mails, and faxes, combined with ALIPAC's national media effort, we have a big win in NC! The NC Attorney General, Roy Cooper, has issued a statement that our community colleges should not allow illegal aliens to attend at any price. The Community College system has decided to follow his recommendations despite the challenges from our pro-illegal alien Governor Mike Easley.

Unfortunately, our UNC College System President, Erskine Bowles, plans to still allow illegals to go to those schools.

To our knowledge, this ruling is the first of its kind as most states allow illegal aliens to attend, if they pay out of state tuition and a few states even force taxpayers to subsidize illegal alien students with in-state tuition.

Please take the following 2 important steps.

As a citizen of our state, I request that you follow the lead of the NC Attorney General and NC Community College system by stopping illegal aliens from attending any of our state sponsored colleges immediately. The NC officials have ruled that allowing illegal aliens into colleges may violate Federal law and open our state up to legal challenges. I received an email response from Erskine Bowles:

I can understand why you feel so strongly about this issue. When the
Attorney General does deliver a formal legal opinion on this, I assure
you we will obey the law. Please see my attached memo to our Board of
Governors. As the office of the Attorney General has stated, there is
real confusion on what the law is today, and we are very glad the
Attorney General will seek further clarification. Just so you know,
we enroll 210,000 students, of whom 27 are undocumented. We only
accept undocumented students who have graduated from a U.S. high
school and are academically qualified for admission. They must pay
out-of-state tuition, which exceeds our cost, and they can only be
admitted if they are counted in our 18% cap on out-of-state freshmen,
so they will not take a seat that would otherwise go to a North
Carolina citizen. They receive no state or federal aid whatsoever, and
their tuition is a significant multiple of what North Carolina
citizens pay.
