Thread: Ron Paul Video Clarification and Correction.

Friends of ALIPAC,

A few people have asked me to clarify something that was said in our email about the Ron Paul video.

In regards to the statement

"Ron Paul calls Huckabee's touchback amnesty "silly" and asks, "why make them leave at all?" "

What we meant was that Ron Paul says "why make them leave at all" mocking Mike Huckabee's hidden touchback amnesty plan that calls for illegal aliens to leave the country for "days" and then return permanently.

If you watch the video closely, you will see that Ron Paul is mocking the Huckabee plan and being facetious.

We begin to discuss the Huckabee touchback amnesty at 1:55 in the film. I describe it to Dr. Paul and he responds (at 2:20) "in a way that's almost silly.... If he (Huckabee) wants them (illegals) here why send them back for a day?"

It was not our intention to mislead anyone or misrepresent Ron Paul's comments. We just wanted to point out the part where Ron Paul addresses the Mike Huckabee amnesty plan.

Thank you the clarification William. It was in jest because the touchback type plan allows them to stay.

I do wish however, that you had asked him about the Birthright Citizenship issue. He after all was sponsor of the amendment (HJ RES 46) to end Birthright Citizenship and anchor babies. That would have been nice to hear him speak on this and inform the public.
