Canada did not allow dual citizenship at the time of his birth and he renounced Canadian citizenship in 2014.
US Citizenship would have required his parents to file forms at a US embassy or consulate in Canada ASAP after his birth.

A natural born citizen is someone born in the United States to 2 US citizens.
