Friends of ALIPAC,

Some of you were confused by the responses and denials you heard from offices in the Senate and House, when we asked you to call and oppose stimulus checks for illegal aliens.

Let us start by telling you that DC heard you loud and clear this week!

Phones rang off the hooks with angry Americans calling and the House and Senate are reacting by promising to fix the legislation and to prevent illegal aliens from receiving taxpayer debt stimulus checks.

Due to our focus on warning the nation about John McCain before Super Tuesday, you can continue to call about this issue, but we recommend waiting until next Wednesday.

Here is what happened.

The House version of the stimulus package bill did NOT contain language specifically authorizing checks for illegal aliens.

The House version of the Bill DID contain language that allowed a loophole, which illegal aliens could exploit. Checks could be received by illegal aliens using Taxpayer Identification Numbers. These ITN numbers are issued by the IRS and banks, without checking to see if a person is in the country legally or not. Illegal aliens notoriously use these taxpayer ID numbers to conduct business in the US.

There were other loopholes and unexpected problems with the House bill, which would have prevented 20 million Senior Citizens and Veterans from receiving stimulus checks because Social Security payments and Veteran payments were not going to be counted as income and you must have income higher than $3,000 to receive a check.

The amendment offered by Senator Ensign, which would close the illegal alien loophole failed in committee, but Senator Grassley has stated clearly that the Senate promises to fix this loophole.

Also, House leaders Boehner and Pelosi have come out stating they will fix this in the bill as well.

That is why some of you heard denials and disbelief when you contacted some offices.

Always remember that lawmakers and companies may be confused or may outright lie, when we ask you to contact them. A good reminder is that Bank of America has continued to deny, to anyone that calls, that they are indeed giving credit cards to illegal aliens. We know this is true, but BofA lies to any of our activists that call to complain.

Some of our activists stopped calling after hearing contradictory information from Congressional staff. Some of you did not forward the email alert for the same reasons.

ALIPAC takes our credibility very seriously. You will often hear things from us first.

We ask that you proceed with our activism requests, report back any problems, but stay focused and do not let our opposition or any confused staffer or employee slow you down. If there is a significant finding or change, we will alert you promptly.

Currently, the Congress and the Senate are promising to fix the stimulus bill to exclude illegal aliens.

They are pledging this due to your activism and all of our fellow Americans that joined us to apply pressure.

As of yet, the language in the bill has not been changed. We will keep you advised.
