Volunteers Converge on Colorado To Stop Bill From Passing

Volunteers Converge on Colorado To Stop Bill From Passing

    April 1, 2009

Volunteers from across the nation are answering ALIPAC's emergency distress call by joining with the majority of Colorado citizens that oppose "in-state tuition for illegal aliens" and Senator Chris Romer's underhanded political tricks!

ALIPAC is also hoping to carry the victory in Arkansas to the states of Colorado, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, and California. In New Jersey, Governor Corzine has become the next Elliot Spitzer of illegal immigration.

"Our third largest support base is in Colorado," said William Gheen of ALIPAC. "Today, concerned citizens from Maine to California are rushing to their aid to try and stop the Colorado Senate from passing Romer's SB09-170. People around the nation are shocked by Senator Romer's political dirty trick of passing this bill out of committee, while a key Senator was away on a family emergency and most of the doors to the legislature this morning were still locked at 7:30am".

A vast majority of Americans and Colorado citizens oppose in-state tuition for illegal aliens under 30 years of age. Multiple polls show voter opposition ranging from 62-81%.

ALIPAC's goal is to accurately inform Colorado Senators about this mass opposition to Romer's bill and explain why.

Voters reject these bills and the politicians that support them because in-state tuition for illegal aliens replaces innocent American students in the limited seats in college, while increasing college costs for American families that are struggling in this bad economy. The bill also violates a 1996 Federal law and will cost Colorado millions of dollars to defend in court. Others feel the bill is outrageous because it encourages more illegal immigration into America, rewards families that break immigration laws, and trains illegal aliens for jobs they are prohibited by law from holding.

The heavily Democratic Arkansas state Senate rejected a version of this legislation on Monday, by voting down Senator Joyce Elliot's bill 21-13! Elliot's bill was passed out of committee using the same tactic Romer deployed by voting on the bill, while a key opponent was out of the room. Arkansas lawmakers cite massive public opposition for their rejection of the bill.

"We want the fine Senators in Colorado to reject both this bill and the disrespectful behavior of the bill supporters in committee," said William Gheen of ALIPAC. "This is not the way we want our lawmakers to treat each other, the process, legislation, or the public. Voters are going to remember this in the next election."

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC launched a national campaign to oppose in-state tuition for illegal aliens legislation in six states two weeks ago. ALIPAC is credited with helping to defeat such measures in many states, since defeating the measure in North Carolina in 2005. ALIPAC is one of the largest multi-ethnic and multi-party national groups fighting against illegal immigration in America.

I will vote against it. It was quite the April Fool’s trick to bring the bill up when the deciding vote was out of town on a family emergency.

Hopefully we can defeat it on the floor.

    First to sue

As the father of a CU out-of-state freshman, I'd like to volunteer to be the first to sue Colorado for in-state tuition if this bill passes.

    Welcome Neptune,

Hopefully, it will not come to that. But if they do pass this thing, those that file the legal challenges will need access to innocent American families like yours that are being caused damages here.
