    Please Help Me Understand

Every day we read more and more about states, counties and cities passing laws and getting training to enforce immigration law. Many of these states and municipalities have been known for turning a blind eye and enabling illegal immigration. Their jails fill, police are overburdened, medical facilities go bankrupt and citizens revolt against paying taxes for illegal immigrants.

They are not passing these laws and cooperating with law enforcement because they suddenly got a conscience. It's because they realized that unfettered illegal immigration comes with huge problems.

Here's where I need help, are the folks that are dealing with these problems communicating with legislators in DC? You know there are problems when the likes of Rick Perry of Texas and super liberal legislators in Oregon are creating legislation dealing with illegal immigration.

Do the Senators and Congressman talk to the law makers in their home states? When they get behind stupid legislation like amnesty, do they really not consider what it will do to their consituents? Am I missing something? It seems like states are going in the opposite direction of the Feds.

Should we be contacting our more accessible state legislators asking them to work on DC or is that ineffective? Someone who has worked on this for a while, help me connect the dots.

    Thanks.

    jecg_97030,

Call everyone of your representatives, at all levels of government and let them know what you want and what you are displeased about. Encourage others to call as well.

Honestly, I'm to the point that the federal gov. is not listening so you should spend some of your energies at the local level.

Don't let up on the fed but exspand your call list.

Good question......I'm not cliaming to know, but just a theory of mine: The lower level of government office you hold, the less power you have, the less the big lobbies try to buy you off. IMO that's why the House is better than the senate and WAY better than the executive. So, going down the line, mayors and city council tend to be the best, basically because they have the least power, least lobby money, and therefor most accountable to the voters. Just a theory.

Bear, I think you have a good point there. I also feel the reason they are more responsive, is most local politicians live right in the communities they are serving, as well, they usually are business people in the towns and therefore have seen the troubles is causes up front, this is something that those in Washington DC have lost sight of.

jceg, Gresham is holding a Safety Summit on March 21st from 8:30 am till noon at the Gresham Council Chambers. Here's a list of people who will be there: US Attorney Karen Immergut, FBI Regional Director Robert Jordan, DA Mike Schrunk, Mult. Co Sheriff Bernie Giusto (a little "woohoo" there!), Tri-Met Director Fred Hansen, Portland East Precint Commander Michael Crebs, Gresham Police Chief Carla Piluso.

Now I know this is on a workday, for me I am a homeschool mother so it's easy to attend, so if you can go, do try to. They will be discussing especially gangs which is in new mayor Shane Bemis' craw, he wants to have some work on it. Plus they will discuss Rockwood, and also the ever increasing crime rate in Gresham.

This will be a good place to bring up talk about ordinances for landlord (renting to illegals and such), city run rental inspections (which will help weed out problem complexes where gangs are), and drug related issues.

I plan to be there with this neighborhoods association president.

Local level, then we work ourselves up from there. When we get local supporters in our local politicians (it's easy to talk with these people face to face), then they will start getting support out of others, then put pressure on county, then county to state, then state to federal. It is really how our government is supposed to work. Each state has the right to make their own decisions, and enact laws which have been legally passed. When we start putting pressure locally, and those in power listen and respond, then the federal government has to pay attention.

Also, it takes fewer people to vote out or elect a city councilman, compared to a US Senator or President. It's easier to vote out a US Representative than it is a Senator. Senators have voters all across the state but Reps. have a very small district to answer to.

That's exactly why the Senators are not listening. They are hedging their bets that they are not upsetting the majority of voters from their states.

Looking at it from an Activist eyes, from ALIPAC'S eyes:

It's a multi-prong approach. If we leave out one prong, we cut off our noses to spite our faces.

Our FOCUS CAMPAIGNS are moving in all three directions and they connect together to eventually create a critical mass.
    LOCAL
    STATE
    NATIONAL

As Dixie suggested, we should INCREASE our contact list rather than shrink it. By doing this, we begin to weed out our friends & foes, better able to communicate with both.

** Please keep in mind that, although it appears that the members of congress aren't 'listening,' make no mistake...........THEY HEAR THE AMERICAN CRY and they are worried. The only thing they know how to do is to pretend not to hear. But, they sure as heck know they're teetering on a rocky cliff!

When the LOCALs get moving, the States see the unrest. The federal sees & feels the disturbances, the anger. It's a circle that meets in the middle.

Thank you, I was starting to lose faith. What are our leaders thinking even giving La Raza a listen? Their name alone says it all. They are just like Aryan Nation, except they openly support criminals. I haven't met a single person that believes in amnesty or believes that a guest worker program is anything other than amnesty.

I hope they are worried. They think heads rolled at this last election? Give amnesty and they'll see some heads roll.

By the way, why don't dems get that they were elected to make change, not further insane behavior?

    You're more than welcomed!

Try to keep their ACTIONS in focus while putting earplugs in your ears.

We know the lies....don't be fooled.

Dems were elected because they used Iraq as a wedge issue. Who thought things would be different with a bunch of libs? They're the REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH gang.....the socialist gang.
We have the Globalist cabal & the socialist cabal.

NO DIFFERENCE when the rubber meets the road.

Please Keep your eye on the ball!!
Stay focused and IGNORE what the idiots say. Watch their hands!

Heads may roll, but they will be replaced by more heads who, if not already corrupt, will soon become full fledged members of the system.

The machine is powered by its participant's greedy lust for ego gratification...a lust that has now become insatiable. For you see; the machine is now willing to destroy itself in order to satisfy its needs. It sucks dry the very lifeblood it needs to keep going: the middle class.
