Sen. Rand Paul Tuesday proposed to cut off U.S. aid to Palestine until it agrees to a ceasefire with Israel and recognizes the right of the Jewish State to exist, a direct slap at Secretary of State John Kerry who warned Israel over the weekend to cut a deal with its Arab nation.
Called the “Stand with Israel Act of 2014,” the Kentucky Republican and possible 2016 presidential candidate said his plan is “to make all future aid to the Palestinian government conditional upon the new unity government putting itself on the record recognizing the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state and agreeing to a lasting peace."
Kerry apologized this week for charging that Israel could become an "apartheid state" if it doesn't cut a peace deal with the Palestinians.

The administration has been under fire for years for allegedly giving Israel the cold shoulder.
Paul's action represented a formal break from his father, for Rep. Ron Paul, who called for an end to aid to Israel too.

(a) In General. Except as provided under subsection (b) and notwithstanding any other provision of law, no amounts may be obligated or expended to provide any direct United States assistance, loan guarantee, or debt relief to the Palestinian Authority, or any affiliated governing entity or leadership organization.

(b) Exception. The prohibition under subsection (a) shall have no effect for a fiscal year if the President certifies to Congress during that fiscal year that the Palestinian Authority has --

(1) Formally recognized the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state;

(2) Publicly recognized the state of Israel;

(3) Renounced terrorism;

(4) Purged all individuals with terrorist ties from security services;

(4) Terminated funding of anti-American and anti-Israel incitement;

(5) Publicly pledged to not engage in war with Israel; and

(6) Honored previous diplomatic agreements.”

Finally, it appears likely to happen – House Speaker John Boehner will form a Select Committee to dig deeply into the corruption and coverup surrounding the attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi!
Word now circulating on Capitol Hill is that Boehner may name Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) to lead the special investigative body. All sorts of new information on the Benghazi scandal has broken this week, indicating top-level people in the White House and State Department conspired to keep the truth about the attack from the American people.
President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stand to take a lot of political heat – potentially searing heat – if the Select Committee is empowered with Rep. Gowdy at the helm.
Another persistent prober into the Benghazi bungle has been Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT). In a recent hearing before the House Oversight Committee – a hearing that many Democrats apparently skipped – Chaffetz lit up the room in his questioning of a retired Air Force Brigadier General who was involved in the initial assessment of the attack on the American compound. The questioning by Chaffetz and his impassioned critique of the US response to the assault (or lack of response) are inspiring to see.

Amidst new revelations concerning emails that show the Obama administration conspired to create a phony narrative around the Benghazi attacks, the true purpose behind the cover-up is being obfuscated – the fact that an annex near the U.S. embassy was being used by the CIA to transfer surface to air missiles to terrorists in Syria.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa today issued a subpoena for Secretary of State John Kerry to testify before the committee on May 21 about Benghazi following the release of emails by Judicial Watch which show that the White House crafted a deceptive policy to falsely frame the attack as a spontaneous protest sparked by a YouTube video in order to protect Barack Obama’s image.
Lost in the haze of claims and counter claims is the real reason why the White House is desperate to prevent the attack from coming under any further scrutiny – because it would likely reveal an arms smuggling scandal that could rival Iran-Contra.
In May last year, Senator Rand Paul was one of the first to speculate that the truth behind Benghazi was linked to an illicit arms smuggling program that saw weapons being trafficked to terrorists in Syria as part of the United States’ proxy war against the Assad regime.
“I’ve actually always suspected that, although I have no evidence, that maybe we were facilitating arms leaving Libya going through Turkey into Syria,” Paul told CNN, adding that he “never….quite understood the cover-up — if it was intentional or incompetence”.
At the same time it emerged that the U.S. State Department had hired an Al-Qaeda offshoot organization, the February 17th Martyrs Brigade, to “defend” the Benghazi Mission months before the attack.
Senator Paul was vindicated less than three months later when it emerged that the CIA had been subjecting its operatives to monthly polygraph tests in an effort to keep a lid on details of the arms smuggling operation being leaked.
On August 1, CNN reported that dozens of CIA agents were on the ground in Benghazi during the attack and that the polygraph tests were mandated in order to prevent operatives from talking to Congress or the media about a program that revolved around “secretly helping to move surface-to-air missiles out of Libya, through Turkey, and into the hands of Syrian rebels.”
Although the Obama administration is now openly arming the Syrian rebels, it has been keen to stress that such weaponry has been restricted to so-called “moderate” fighters, despite the fact that it is now widely acknowledged that Al-Qaeda is by far the most potent fighting force in Syria and indeed commands all the other militant groups.
The real truth behind Benghazi is likely to reveal that the Obama administration knowingly and deliberately provided surface to air missiles and other weapons to the most bloodthirsty Al-Qaeda jihadists in Syria who are now busy crucifying Christians while promising to bring their reign of terror to the west.
If a proper investigation into the Benghazi attacks uncovered concrete evidence of this arms smuggling scandal, Obama would face impeachment and many members of his administration would be facing long stretches in prison.

That’s the real reason why the White House is desperate to bury Benghazi.

Recent “smoking gun” emails that were witheld from the Congressional investigation into Benghazi have prompted the formation of a House Select Committe on the terrorist attack. The press release:

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) released the following statement announcing a House Select Committee on Benghazi:

“For nearly two years, House committees have aggressively investigated what happened the night four brave Americans were killed in Benghazi, and the Obama Administration’s reaction to that terrorist attack. Despite White House stonewalling, our committees have uncovered a great deal of information that gives cause to the grave concerns expressed by countless Americans. I’m proud of our committees’ work.

“Unfortunately, the Obama Administration’s continued obstruction has made clear that it is time for a House Select Committee to force the Administration to end its stonewalling and come clean to congressional investigators, an inquiring media, and the American public.

“In the days after four Americans were killed by terrorists, President Obama’s advisors orchestrated a campaign to deceive their fellow Americans as to what occurred, and we deserve to know why. I thank Chairmen Issa, McKeon, Rogers, and Royce for their steadfast conviction, and I know we will all continue to build on their incredible efforts.”

A select committee has powers and authority beyond the scope of a standing committee, and can subpoena any member of the government to testify.

After five years of promised transparency from the White House and many major questions remaining on what happened at Benghazi – witnesses yet to be called, actions and whereabouts of key White House security personnel unaccounted for – the select committee intends to get to the bottom of this once-and-for-all.

America is finally hearing the news they have been waiting for a year and a half to hear, Speaker of the House John Boehner is forming a select committee to investigate Benghazi.
The White House coverup of Benghazi will not stand any longer. They have refused to release key documents and have been caught in lie after lie, as evidenced by the latest emails released by a court order.
The Select Committee will likely be Chaired by Representative Trey Gowdy.

The Weekly Standard is reporting that Boehner will likely announce soon the formation of a select committee led by Trey Gowdy to fully investigate Benghazi.

House Speaker John Boehner is “seriously considering” appointing a select committee to investigate the attacks on the U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya, according to a senior GOP leadership aide. The move comes after the revelation of an email from a top Obama national security official, Ben Rhodes, instructing Susan Rice to focus on an anti-Muslim internet video to explain the attacks.
“The new emails this week were the straw that broke the camel’s back,” says the aide. “The Speaker was furious to learn that the admininstration withheld relevant documents from a congressional subpoena. He’s sick and tired of this evasion and obstruction from the administration, and wants a solution to finally force accountability, get to the truth, and provide justice.”
Boehner, who has paid careful attention to the Benghazi developments since the attacks, has resisted calls to appoint a select committee, preferring to allow the various committees of jurisdiction to pursue investigations of their slices of the attacks on their own. Aides say Boehner continues to believe that the work of those committees has been valuable. “The current committees investigating the attack have done good work, using their authority, including subpoena authority, to gather facts, interview hundreds of witnesses, and conduct dozens of hearings. But this week’s events demonstrate a new level of stonewalling and obfuscation by the administration that requires a new level of investigation.”

This is great news for those of us that have been pushing for a select committee and full investigation. It would appear that Speaker Boehner has finally listened to his fellow Congressmen and constituents that have been begging for this committee.

More Bad News For Obama: House Lawmakers Move To Appoint Special Prosecutor In IRS Targeting Scandal

House Republicans are expected to vote in favor of appointing a special prosecutor to investigate the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative groups because the lawmakers have no faith in an investigation of the matter currently being handled by the Justice Department.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (Va.) announced the vote in a statement Friday.
The lawmaker said that President Barack Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder, along with other top-ranking government officials have meddled in the DOJ investigation for political reasons. Cantor and other members of the GOP have also noted in recent months that several top Justice lawyers involved in the investigation are Democratic donors.
“After a lengthy and thorough investigation, the House Ways & Means Committee referred Lois Lerner to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution for violating the law by targeting conservative organizations,” Cantor said in the statement. “To date, it appears the Department of Justice has taken no action on this referral.
“It is time for Attorney General Holder to appoint a special counsel to investigate the IRS targeting scandal and bring the appropriate charges against those responsible. There can be no doubt the IRS scandal has undermined the public’s trust in our government. This is far too serious a matter to leave to the discretion of partisan political appointees no matter who is in the White House.”
Representative Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who called the ongoing DOJ investigation “a joke,” introduced a resolution calling for a special prosecutor Friday with the backing of several top Republicans.
“The current investigation has no credibility because it is being headed by a maxed-out donor who is financially invested in the president’s success,” Jordan added. “This resolution calls for a real investigation by an unbiased investigator to get to the truth and hold those responsible for this illegal targeting accountable for their actions.”
Cantor said that he wants every member of the House, “Republican and Democrat,” to vote in favor of the measure. Unsurprisingly, Congressional Democrats have already criticized the effort.
“Another day, another desperate Republican effort to dredge up a political scandal even after a year of evidence has proven otherwise,” Representative Sandy Levin (Mich.), top Ways and Means Democrat, said in a statement.
The Democratic lawmaker also accused the GOP of wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on investigations in a “wild attempt” to “tar” the Obama Administration.
The House’s special prosecutor announcement came the same day as Republicans in the Senate went on the offensive over Obama’s Benghazi terror attack scandal, organizing a select committee to investigate the attack and subpoenaing Secretary of State John Kerry to appear at a hearing later this month.

GOP Ramps Up Benghazi Investigation, Forms Select Committee

WASHINGTON– Republicans in the House began an all-out Benghazi-themed offensive on the Obama Administration this week, escalating the investigation into what they claim were cover-ups by the Administration in the wake of the terrorist attack that left four Americans dead.
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) announced on Friday the formation of a select committee, to be chaired by South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, to investigate the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks. Also Friday, the House Oversight Committee issued a subpoena to Secretary of State John Kerry to force him to appear at a hearing later this month.
“The administration’s withholding of documents — emails showing greater White House involvement in misleading the American people — is a flagrant violation of trust and undermines the basic principles of oversight upon which our system of government is built,” Boehner said in a statement. “And it forces us to ask the question, what else about Benghazi is the Obama administration still hiding from the American people?”
The moves come two days after new State Department communications were declassified and released, including an email from then-White House aide Ben Rhodes, now a deputy national security advisor, outlining a communication strategy for then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice’s television appearances for the Sunday after the attack.
“The fact that these documents were withheld from Congress for more than 19 months is alarming,” said Oversight Committee Chairman Darrel Issa (R-Calif.). “The Department is not entitled to delay responsive materials because it is embarrassing or implicates the roles and actions of senior officials.”
Republicans pointed to testimony at an Oversight hearing Thursday from retired USAF Brig. Gen. Rovert Lovell that appeared to accuse the State Department of withholding military aid from Libya in the hours of the attack. But House Armed Services Committee Chair Howard “Buck” McKeon (R-Calif.) quickly undercut their conclusion.
“BG Lovell did not serve in a capacity that gave him reliable insight into operational options available to commanders during the attack, nor did he offer specific courses of action not taken,” McKeon said in a statement Thursday. “We have no evidence that Department of State officials delayed the decision to deploy what few resourced DoD had available to respond.”
House conservatives have been clamoring for leadership to ramp up the investigation for months, sensing a political opening that they believe will energize their base heading into November’s midterm elections.
They also hope to hang the issue on then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who has maintained her edge as a clear frontrunner in polling of potential 2016 match-ups.
Since the immediate aftermath of the attack that left Amb. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead, the Republican investigation has turned up numerous “smoking guns,” particularly related to the creation of Rice’s talking points. At the time, Rice said the attack spontaneously occurred during a protest over a YouTube video that had generated outrage across the Middle East that week.
While it later became clear the attack was perpetrated by extremists — Republicans accuse the White House of trying to stick to its election-year message that al Qaeda was critically weakened — the CIA has maintained they could not rule out the protest as a cause for several days.
