Grand Jury to Convene in Decapitated Bodies Case

Unable to post $3.3 million bail, a New Jersey man remains behind bars on charges that he killed and decapitated two men.
And, NBC10 has learned that a grand jury is expected to hear this case.
Yusuf Ibrahim, 28, is accused of shooting and killing two men on Feb. 5 in Jersey City, N.J., then cutting off their heads and hands before burying the bodies in a shallow grave behind a home in rural Buena Vista Township, Atlantic County, N.J. He then allegedly dumped and torched one of the victim's cars in West Philadelphia.

The New Jersey's Attorney General's Office has been handling the case. Ibrahim was arraigned Feb. 14 and has remained jailed on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of second-degree desecration of a corpse.
It's possible that Ibrahim could still face more charges when a grand jury is called. State Attorney General's Office spokeswoman Rachel Goemaat says there is no timetable on when the grand jury will convene, but that the action is expected "because these charges are indictable offenses."
Friends identified one of the victims as Amgad Konds, 27. The other victim was later identified as Hanny Tawadros, 25, according to NJ.com.
Friends told NBC10’s Daralene Jones the victims were roommates living in Southwest Philadelphia and also shared an apartment in Jersey City, N.J.
Police say they found Konds’ car on the 4100 block of Pennsgrove Avenue engulfed in flames hours after his body was discovered. Officers saw a man run away from the burning car and then drive off in a Nissan Sentra with Virginia tags.
Sources say police found a gasoline container in the back seat of the car. Investigators also found blood, a shovel, and other evidence that tie the car to the crime scene in Buena.
