We have been blessed with an enormous gift. No serious common sense person should ever kick a gift-horse in the mouth.
You have been a very faithful cheerleader Judy and for many it has been contagious. We all want to see President Elect Trump and the new administration succeed at putting America First. We want to see his promise to hire American First come true. I am not sure it has been the primary focus of any administration in recent decades or longer to focus on the citizens and what is best for us and the nation. We have been sold out to the international world and we have paid a heavy price.

We cannot sit back and be complacent. We must be vigilant in holding their feet to the fire as always.

It is now 23 Democrats who will not attend. A CNN Political Commentator mentioned their constituents may be offended and he referred to the undocumented and Muslims.

I just saw that on the news GeorgiaPeach! Well, I think that puts on display what kind of Clueless Self-Centered Congresscritters we have in DC. They're snowflakes unfit to serve the people of the United States, let alone their own districts. They are worried about their color, language, religion and kudos instead of our citizens, borders, jobs, security, peace and prosperity.

This inauguration will clearly be about far more than just the inauguration of Donald J Trump. It's about the future, instead of the past, it's about a new direction, a better course of new policies, instead of the failed ones that got US into the mess we're in, it's about a new hope of national prosperity and world peace, instead of the past of getting something for yourself at the expense of someone else.

It's about new relationships throughout the world that serve our interests while being fair to other countries, instead of one-sided agreements that only serve the foreign interest at the expense of the Americans.

This inauguration isn't for black civil rights leaders from the 60's, it's not about Muslim immigration lawyers, it's not about illegal aliens, it's not about overpriced health care for 30 million people underwritten by the rest of the country who can't afford their own, it's not about unions that force American workers to buy cars made in Mexico, it's not about any of that, it's about a New Day of great jobs, revitalized inner cities, higher incomes, lower poverty, zero illegal immigration, reduced legal immigration, education choice, great health insurance options of your choice, new infrastructure, and so much good news about winning that many will wonder why in the hell we didn't do these things before??!!

The answer of course is we haven't had a President for decades who knew what to do or how to do it who wanted to do it. Now we do. Lets make the most of these years that we can because there won't be another one in this century.

That is really terrible, GeorgiaPeach!! Shame on them. I consider it their loss. This is all because of John Lewis, who lied about this being his first inauguration he missed since he's been in Congress. Lewis is a divider, what a pity and bad example for a civil rights "icon" to do because his candidate lost the election. A terrible display by Lewis and the other 42 Democrats, something you'd expect in a third world Banana Republic, not the United States.

Here are the Democrats Who are Skipping Trump’s Inauguration

At last count, over 50 Democrats have announced they will be skipping President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday, January 20.

The majority of them are from the deep blue state of California.

According to Roll Call, Democrats who are planning to skip Trump’s historic swearing-in ceremony include Reps. John Lewis (D-GA), Steve Cohen (D-TN), Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Don Beyer (D-VA), Mark Takano (D-CA), Yvette Clarke (D-NY), Ted Liu (D-CA), Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), John Conyers (D-MI), Mark Desaulnier (D-CA), Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), Kurt Schrader (D-OR), Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), William Lacy Clay (D-MO), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Jos Serrano (D-NY), Judy Chu (D-CA), Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), Jared Huffman (D-CA), Katherine Clark (D-MA), Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), Karen Bass (D-CA), Keith Ellison (D-MI), Adriano Espaillat (D-NY), Mark Pocan (D-WI), Maxine Waters (D-CA), Marcia Fudge (D-OH), Al Green (D-TX), Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA), Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), Anthony Brown (D-MD), Chellie Pingree (D-ME), John Yarmouth (D-KY), Dwight Evans (D-PA), Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), Grace Napolitano (D-CA), Raul Ruiz (D-CA), Adam Smith (D-WA), Darren Sotto (D-FL), Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), G.K. Butterfield (D-NC), Joaquin Castro (D-TX), Tony Cardenas (D-CA), Mike Doyle (D-PA), Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH), Donald M. Payne (D-NJ), Alma Adams (D-N.C.), Brendan F. Boyle (D-PA), Robert A. Brady (D-PA), Frederica Wilson (D-FL), Jerry McNerney (D-CA), and Peter A. DeFazio (D-OR).

Although no Democratic senators have indicated they will be missing the inauguration, CNN has suggested that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has left the door open for those deciding to do so. Schumer said, “I think each person has to make the choice on their own, but I don’t begrudge those who have said they’re boycotting. Each person can make his or her own decision.”

Dozens of Democratic lawmakers announced they would not attend the inauguration after legendary civil rights activist Rep. John Lewis stated that he does not believe Trump is a “legitimate president,” that he is “wrong” for the nation, and that this is the first inauguration at which he will not be present.

However, soon after he made his comment, a report surfaced that Lewis had skipped George W. Bush’s inauguration because he did not believe Bush was the true elected president, thus it would be hypocritical for him to attend.

Trump tweeted, “John Lewis said about my inauguration, ‘It will be the first one that I’ve missed.’ WRONG (or lie)! He boycotted Bush 43 also because he thought it would be hypocritical to attend Bush’s swearing-in….he doesn’t believe Bush is the true elected president.’ Sound familiar!”

New Hampshire Democrat Rep. Carol Shea-Porter noted that instead of attending the inauguration she’ll go to religious services to “pray for all of our leaders and people.” Shea-Porter represents a congressional district that Trump won. In fact, Trump won more votes than Shea-Porter did. Shea-Porter received 162,080 votes in her district, CD-1. Trump received 179,259 in the same district.

Jeanie Forrester, who is running for chair of the New Hampshire Republican Party, sent out a tweet pointing this out:

Forrester, who is running uncontested and has received the backing of Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH), will face elections on Jan. 28.

In response to the Democrats skipping the inauguration, Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) said, “Put your big boy pants on.” He added, “and let’s start working together.”

Nearly 60 Democratic lawmakers now skipping Trump’s inauguration

By Elise Viebeck January 17 at 4:53 PM

A growing group of Democratic lawmakers will boycott President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration Friday to protest what they described as his alarming and divisive policies, foreign interference in his election and his criticism of civil rights icon John Lewis, a congressman from Georgia.

There are now nearly 60 House Democrats — 59, at last count — who have declared that they will not attend the inauguration on Capitol Hill this week. The number rose sharply after Trump tweeted Saturday that Lewis (D) is “all talk, talk, talk” and should “finally focus on the burning and crime infested inner-cities.”

Lewis, who sees Trump’s Nov. 8 win as illegitimate because of Russia’s alleged interference in the election, is best known for leading civil rights protests in the 1960s, including the 1965 march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Ala., during which state troopers brutally attacked the crowd. Lewis will not attend the inauguration, he told NBC News in an interview for Sunday’s “Meet the Press.”
