2 YEAR EXTENSION FOR DACA
Two administration officials further explained to ABC News that the administration will stop considering applications for legal status dated after September 5. If you aren’t on the program now, you can’t apply, but pending applications will still be processed. Also, if your DACA permit expires between September 5 and March 5, 2018, you can still apply for a two-year renewal by October 5. The officials insist that if Congress doesn’t pass a law within six months, the “Dreamers” will not be instantly deported.

The Department of Homeland Security issued a statement following Sessions' briefing that reiterated the "wind down" process that he mentioned. It read, in part:
“This Administration’s decision to terminate DACA was not taken lightly. The Department of Justice has carefully evaluated the program’s Constitutionality and determined it conflicts with our existing immigration laws,” said Acting [Department of Homeland Security] Secretary Elaine Duke. “As a result of recent litigation, we were faced with two options: wind the program down in an orderly fashion that protects beneficiaries in the near-term while working with Congress to pass legislation; or allow the judiciary to potentially shut the program down completely and immediately. We chose the least disruptive option.
“With the measures the Department is putting in place today, no current beneficiaries will be impacted before March 5, 2018, nearly six months from now, so Congress can have time to deliver on appropriate legislative solutions. However, I want to be clear that no new initial requests or associated applications filed after today will be acted on.”

The Homeland Security statement shows that they want amnesty. General Kelly, Elaine Duke, who knows if anyone there wanted DACA to end, though it is unconstitutional and rewards illegal aliens.
The second option was the correct one. It was a black and white choice, not gray.Last edited by GeorgiaPeach; 09-05-2017 at 11:49 AM.

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

I believe Elaine Duke is speaking for herself, Kelly, and Trump, not Attorney General Sessions. From everything I've read over the last couple days, seems Sessions is not a willing partner in this extension crap. I love that he flat out told President Trump he would not defend DACA in court. Jeff Sessions has not disappointed, wish I could say the same thing for some others.
