    At least four people have been killed and 33 others have been wounded in shootings across Chicago since Friday, officials said.

    Of the shooting victims, 19 people have been wounded and two people killed since Saturday afternoon.


    The most recent weekend shooting took place just after 4 a.m. Sunday when a 24-year-old man was shot during an altercation in the Cragin neighborhood, police said.


    The man was involved in an altercation with his girlfriend in the 5400 block of West Diversey Avenue when someone intervened and shot him in the hand and torso, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.


    He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in stable condition.


    Around the same time, police responded to a shooting report on Interstate 57 near Halsted.


    Illinois State police confirmed there was a shooting on Southbound I-57 and said one person was shot and taken to an area hospital.


    Details surrounding the shooting were not immediately known and the condition of the victim was not available.


    Three people were shot in two separate shootings within 10 minutes early Sunday morning.


    Around 2:40 a.m., a man and woman were standing behind a residence in the 6000 block of South Indiana Avenue when they heard shots and felt pain.


    A 32-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County where he was later pronounced dead, police said.


    A 27-year-old woman was shot in the lower right leg and was listed in stable condition at Stroger Hospital.


    At 2:30 a.m., a 30-year-old man was shot in the 1500 block of West 18 Place in the city’s Pilsen neighborhood.


    Details surrounding the shooting weren’t immediately available but the man was taken to University of Illinois Chicago Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm.


    Just after 1 a.m. Sunday, a 20-year-old man was found fatally shot in the 3000 block of West 53rd Place following an altercation outside his home.


    According to authorities, the man was involved in an altercation at the residence. Shortly after, he was found fatally shot. No one was in custody for the shooting as of Sunday morning.


    Around 12:30 a.m., a woman was critically wounded in a shooting in the 900 block of North Kedzie Avenue.


    The 28-year-old woman suffered gunshot wounds to the head, chest and back and was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital.


    Police said the woman was traveling northbound on Kedzie Avenue when a dark-colored SUV pulled up alongside her and started shooting at the vehicle.


    A male passenger in the vehicle was not injured and police believe the shooting may have been gang-related.


    Family members said the 28-year-old victim has no gang ties and is the mother of a 1-year-old and 9-year-old child.




    Around the same time, an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg in the Lawndale neighborhood.


    Police said the teen was standing with a group when he heard shots and ran. It was until after he fled that he realized he was shot.


    The teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition.


    Just before midnight Saturday, two men were seriously injured in a shooting in the 10000 block of South Crandon Avenue.


    Police said the men, who have known gang affiliations, were sitting on a front porch when an offender approached and fired shots.


    A 42-year-old man was shot in the face and another 42-year-old man was shot in the leg. Both were listed in serious condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center, police said.


    Twenty minutes earlier, a 20-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 4900 block of West Hubbard Avenue.


    Police said the man was standing on the street when an unknown offender approached on foot and fired shots.


    He was listed in stable condition at Stroger Hospital.


    Fifteen minutes earlier, a 26-year-old woman was shot while standing at a bus stop in the city’s Englewood neighborhood.


    The 26-year-old woman was standing with two men when a man wearing a black hoodie approached on foot and fired shots.


    The woman was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right leg. She was last listed in stable condition.


    Around 10:25 p.m., three people were shot in an apparent drive-by shooting near the intersection of North and Washtenaw avenues.


    The victims were standing on the sidewalk when a male passenger in a dark-colored SUV drove by and fired shots.


    A 25-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and took himself to Norweigan-American Hospital. He was later transported to Stroger Hospital in stable condition.


    A 22-year-old woman was shot in the calf and drove herself to Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in stable condition, Sullivan said.

    A third victim, a 28-year-old man, was also shot in the calf and was treated and released at Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center.

    Minutes earlier, a 22-year-old man was shot during a verbal altercation in the 0-100 block of North Pulaski Road.


    The man was shot in the butt and stomach and listed in serious condition at Stroger Hospital.


    Earlier Saturday evening, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the right leg in the 4500 block of South Champlain Avenue in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood, Sullivan said.


    The teen was standing in a courtyard around 6:40 p.m. when an offender stepped out between two buildings and fired at him, Sullivan said.


    He was taken to University of Chicago Hospital in good condition.

    Just before 5 p.m. Saturday, a 30-year-old man was shot in an apparent drive-by in the 400 block of West 126th Street.

    Police said the man was outside at that location when shots were fired from a light-colored van striking him in the lower left leg. The man was taken to Metro South Hospital in good condition.


    Around 2:25 p.m., a 24-year-old man walked into Our Lady of Resurrection Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the right hand.


    Police said the man was shot in the 5200 block of West Wellington Avenue but that the injury may have been self-inflicted.


    Also Saturday afternoon, a 25-year-old man walked into Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right abdomen and right foot.


    The man claimed he was shot around 2 a.m. near 59th Street and Talman Avenue while walking home from a friend’s house. The man said he was heavily intoxicated at the time and did not seek medical attention until later, Sullivan said.


    At least 16 others were shot, two of them fatally, since Friday afternoon.
