5 reported dead in Illinois shooting

Five people have been killed and one injured in a shooting overnight in Manchester, Ill., KSDK-TV reports.
Details of the shootings were not immediately clear, but WLDS radio quotes Illinois State Police as confirming that five people were shot to death in a home in Manchester, a village of 350 people located is 85 north of St. Louis.
KMOX reports that the shootings occurred around 4:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday.
WLDS quotes police in Winchester, about 12 mile from the scene of the killings, as saying that a suspect is in custody. The radio station also reported that the suspect, who was on the run for two hours, was captured following a high-speed chase and exchange of gunfire. The suspect has been hospitalized.

The pastor of Manchester Baptist Church tells KSDK-TV that the shootings took place inside a public housing complex. At least one of the victims is a child, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Department.

Schools have been closed in North Green, Winchester and Jacksonville, KSDK reports.
