Possible Dem strategy to pass Dream Act

We know that 60 votes are needed in the Senate to pass cloture (start and end discussion), but only 51 are needed to pass the bill if cloture is approved.

If all those Dems who have said they oppose the Dream act, vote FOR cloture but against the actual bill, it will pass. They will vote againt the actual bill to tell voters "I voted against amnesty". I can see Obama right now calling the Dem senators and asking them to do exactly that. He might be calling the Republican fence sitters also.

When we call we need to make sure these fence sitters will vote against cloture also.

Senator Kay Hagan D-NC always says she is against shamnesty, but as soon as the doors close she toes Obozo's line! I don't trust her any farther than I could throw her.

    The process

Debate , cloture , and then vote on the bill if they get cloture

The house has their own version of the bill , again , debate and vote

Will amendments be allowed? again , that will take more time

Now both of these bills would have to go to a panel that would
try to re counsel both of these bills together , then it would have to go
back to the senate for a vote and to the house for a vote

Some of us that watch c span and the process on a regular basis know these imbeciles just can't work that fast

I'm sorry , I just don't see them getting it done in the time left
They probably will try , but I don't know

Our orgs are all geared up and ready to really put the heat on these
    morons if they try it.

The country has much more serious business and if they by pass that and try to push this carp , heaven help them ,
