ICE OPERATORS BEING RUDE - ANYONE?

The public is encouraged to report suspicious activity by calling ICE's toll-free hotline at: 1-866-347-2423. This hotline is staffed around the clock.
    -- ICE --

When calling this number they will be rude. They want to know how you know; and once they take your information they will just click you off.

Operator 1275 clicked me after taking the address information; and another operator would not even take my information before she clicked me off.

Just called to report local school system contracting yard working illegals.

The operators at ICE are getting more rude. I was clicked on twice (hung up on). The second operator 1275 did take my information on the crime, then clicked me.

I asked the second operator "what did he want me to do; a citizen arrest."

He asked me," How do you know he is illegal?" Is the question they want you the caller to answer. See how they are trying not to do their job at ICE!

And I asked, "why didn't the school system check the hiring of the contractor with E-Verify."

The operator said, "The employers don't have to."

I told the operator, "Well if the American people have anything to do with it E-Verify will be the LAW."

I informed the ICE operator that this is taxpayer dollars that are hiring illegal criminal aliens. The last time I check this middle school still gets federal and local funding from the taxpayers.

But this operator did take the information down, I think

No excuse for that. Not sure who you could report that too. But we just need to keep calling. If even 1 out of a 100 of our calls is responded to that's something.

Still, it's like when you call a senator or reps. office and talk to one of those rude interns. A number of us have been hung up on.

    Keep calling

Sorry to hear that vmonkey . My 2 cents . Maybe they try to discourage calls so the whole 82% don't call . Or maybe they hate their job. Or maybe their Illegal too and sitting on a time bomb we've had illegals working every where in the government , insane country

They have no right to hang up on people. At the beginning of the conversation, try saying, "Who am I speaking with, please?"

If you have their name or ID number, maybe they'll be more polite.

There's no reason for this unless they're trying to discourage people from calling.

Government agencies should not treat citizens in an authoritative, demeaning manner like that.

Sometimes I like to REMIND them that they are the SERVANTS of the people, this is not a police state, or a communist country......yet anyway.

I think that we should write to someone about this immediately. It is not a good sign for U.S. citizens to be getting treated in this manner by a government agency.

You may be onto something here. They, and their supporters, are everywhere. The whole system has been infiltrated.

Would be interesting to know if rudeness is policy suggested by higher-ups. And I am also surprised that these phones are manned by Americans. I should have expected, that to save on their budget, they would have outsourced the call centers to India by now, like Microsoft.

Look for a number for your closest ICE office. Ours is in San Francisco. You have a more local ICE. Call them tell them what you are encountering and see if there is a number for you to call them directly.

NOW, they want to know about suspicious activity. Trafficking, odd hours of night, continual. Different people continually. One way you can check on the contract workers is get the business license number from their trucks or from the school.

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT ICE IS CONTRACTING OUT THIS JOB TO A CALL CENTER SOMEWHERE IN THE AREA. IF THAT IS THE CASE, THEN THE CALL CENTER PERSONS DO NOT WORK DIRECTLY FOR ICE. BUT I BET ICE DOES NOT KNOW THEY ARE NOT REALLY TAKING THEIR JOB SERIOUSLY.
