7.0 earthquake strikes just south of Alaska's Aleutian Islands

-- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.0 struck in the Pacific Ocean just south of Alaska's Aleutian Islands on Friday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

There is no tsunami danger, the USGS said.

The quake, at a depth of 21.4 miles, was centered about 57 miles east-southeast of Adak, a city on one of the Aleutian Islands.
