Action Alert!!!! - Stop the Mexican Trucks!!!!!

Action Alert!!!! - Stop the Mexican Trucks!!!!!

You know and I know that this is part of the SPP plan for free movement of goods and people.

We have to stop this. This is hurting America in more ways than one. It's taking jobs from our truckers, it's taking manufacturing jobs out of this country, it's taking distribution jobs... The Mexican trucks will be moving goods that should have been Made in America.

Every time you buy products that have been shipped from Mexico or China you are supporting that country and their political system. You are giving your money to a corrupt government and supporting Communism.

Every time you see one of those trucks remember this.

Coming to a neighborhood near you.

    Call your Congressmen!!!!!!!!!!!

See William's Announcement and Take Action Now!!!!!

I called Senator Crapo yesterday. The staffer was a twit, but she said she would pass the message along. Then I called Rep. Bill Sali's office. He didn't even know the trucks were rolling on Thursday. I had to send a news report to his Washington office to prove it.

Now I did hear a little something on the news about this today. It only said that Congress is aware of this now and they are mad. Whether they will do something about it, is anybody's guess.

Lou Dobbs also mentioned that the trucks would start this week, but didn't say which day.

I got a reply from my one of my Senators, Senator Durbin, but I am still waiting for a reply from Senator Obama. and my House Representative Emanuel. I sent all three the exact same email:

Note what Durbin said "and bus". Dose these mean Mexican Buses too?

Here is my email to them:

Senators Obama, Durbin, and Representative Emanuel

As a former Bush supporter I am turning to you and the rest of my government officials for help in stopping President Bush from allowing Mexican trucks and truckers from roaming our country freely.

This idea is 100% unsafe for the people of America, and breaches our nation security.

I want my Congressman and Senators to do all they can at STOPPING THE MEXICAN TRUCKS from entering the US, without being checked for illegal aliens, drugs, weapons, or terrorists! Congress must act now to STOP THE TRUCKS!

Any Border fences and the Border Patrol will be quickly rendered useless because the drug and illegal alien importing crime cartels will switch from border crossing to trucking. These trucks will obviously become loaded with illegal aliens and drugs shortly.

Also, I understand that on May 15, 2007 the House Voted 411-3 against allowing these trucks into our country until this program has been reviewed in more detail. Yet, Mr. Bush made this decision, without asking for approval from Congress, and against the wishes of the American people. And for this, as a former Bush voter and supporter, My apologies to Congress and America for his actions for I feel somewhat responsible for this mess.

I appeal to Congress to take immediate action to suspend the Bush Open Borders Plan, which is part of the SPP mission, to allow these trucks in without being checked.

Also, these trucks will cost American truckers their jobs, lower their wages, and increase risks to American motorists!

I would like to clarify that I feel Mr. Bush has been going a good job, until he exposed his views on illegal immigration, amnesty, and his open borders and SPP, and NAU unwanted goals for America. These dangerous goals of his far out weigh any good he has done up to this point. After all, what is the point of saving America from Al Quata only to give it to Mexico?

    Mr. Xxxxx Xxxxxxx
    123 This Ave
    Xxxxx, IL 60xxx

    Dear Mr. Xxxxx;

Thank you for contacting me about allowing Mexican trucks into the United States. I appreciate knowing your views on this matter. I share your concerns about this issue.

The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which was ratified by Congress in 1993, included provisions to allow Mexican trucks to travel anywhere in the four border states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas by January 1, 1996, and throughout the United States by the year 2000.

I voted for the overall agreement with the understanding that the truck provision would not require the United States to compromise any of its road and truck safety standards. Currently, Mexican trucks are permitted to operate only in a small zone in each of the four border states, but the Bush Administration has repeatedly attempted to lift that restriction.
Mexican truck and bus safety standards are significantly lower than U.S. standards. Due to our insufficient capability of enforcing our safety standards, these trucks could pose a serious public safety risk. For example, in the United States, there are limits on how many consecutive hours a trucker can drive, and these hours are to be documented in a logbook that can be inspected.

United States truck drivers are also subject to alcohol and drug testing. Mexico imposes no limits on how long a trucker may drive and has no testing facilities certified to U.S. testing standards. The maximum weight on U.S. trucks is 80,000 pounds. The Mexican limit is 135,000 pounds. In the United States, trucks transporting hazardous materials are subject to strict standards and inspection. The Mexican program includes few hazardous substances and fewer license requirements.

Additionally, the United States requires truck safety inspections. Mexican standards and testing for inspections are still being finalized. In March, the Administration announced its intention to begin a pilot program that would allow 1,000 Mexican trucks to travel beyond the current restricted zone.
This program would run for a year before the border was fully opened to Mexican trucks. I was concerned that this plan did not address the significant safety considerations associated with allowing Mexican trucks to travel freely in the United States.

I supported an amendment to the emergency supplemental appropriations bill that will delay the pilot program until safety issues are addressed. The language in the bill requires certification from the Department of Transportation Inspector General verifying that safety and inspection requirements are met before the Mexican truck pilot program can start.

The President signed this bill into law at the end of May. I will continue to follow this issue closely and will keep your concerns in mind.

Thank you again for your message. Please feel free to keep in touch.

    Sincerely, Richard J. Durbin
    United States Senator RJD/cw

P.S. If you are ever visiting Washington, please feel free to join Senator Obama and me at our weekly constituent coffee. When the Senate is in session, we provide coffee and donuts every Thursday at 8:30 a.m. as we hear what is on the minds of Illinoisans and respond to your questions. We would welcome your participation. Please call my D.C. office for more details.
