OK!! We have to bombard Rep. Nancy Nathanson (D-Distrcit 13)with phone calls and emails and faxes. SHE VOTED NO ON SB 1080 IN COMMITTEE. That is what her staffer, Tim, told me. So I told him to make sure he passes my message on to her!! Grrrr.

FYI, this was my talking point:

"Driving is a privilege, not a right. If illegal aliens have no right to be here, why are we giving them a privilege? It does not make sense to me. Does it make sense to you?"

If you want to use that, please do. I find that when confronted with common sense, you can't fight it. That is what we need more of, common sense laws.

"Riesen said the only thing lawmakers would accomplish by increasing the cost of tuition is to disenfranchise an entire segment of society along the lines of race and class.

"That has never been what Utah has been about and it should not be now," he said.

"HB 241 passed in the House 40-35 Tuesday and will now be heard in the Senate. Another close vote is expected there."
