    Pardon my ignorance but.....

What happens if none of the candidates gets enough delegates to be declared the official winner...or tied.....what's the next step?

Also, can Huckabee 'give' his delegates to McCain or Romney later? Or do the delegates choose who they will go to?

    A brokered convention

That means that Huck will offer his delegates to McCain
in exchange for a high position in McCains administration

Now Huck could also offer his delegates to Romney, or Romney to
    Huck

They keep wheeling and dealing delegates and votes until
one of them has the magic number 1192

"Fedupinw" that is exactly what I was wondering are they allowed to give their delegates to another candidate ? I would would not think that would be right!

But that is a good question also what if none of them reaches the total needed?....my guess is the one with the most delegates takes it.

OK who has the answer to these questions....My guess is "Phred"

Thank heavens I'm not the only one wondering all these things. Never happened....or if it did I was asleep at the wheel.

What is a brokered convention? I know I voted for delegates when I voted. Is it up to them to decide where to go? Plus Fedupinwaukegan asked one I was curious about too. I

Crazybird...the Republican elites are doing everything in their power to make sure McClame is declared the nominee BEFORE the convention. They don't want to leave anything to chance.

Tancredo said he supported Romney I think...Edwards sort of dropped out but not really.....are they hanging onto to their points and waiting to see where they should go to barter with?
