Add Taco Bueno to the boycott list
FARMERS BRANCH, Texas Taco Bueno Restaurants today said its relocation to Farmers Branch has been misrepresented as an endorsement of an ordinance to ban rentals to illegal immigrants.
The proposal goes before voters on Saturday.
Opponents and business experts have said the ordinance, first approved last November, makes the Dallas suburb seem racist.
Councilman Tim O'Hare has countered by pointing out that Taco Bell moved its headquarters to Farmers Branch after the council approved the ordinance.
Taco Bueno relocated in December, but its lease negotiations began in October of 2005.
The company says it embraces the Hispanic community and has a long tradition of supporting Mexican-American culture and family life.
The company also says that while Taco Bueno cannot support illegal immigration, officials believe the ordinance is ill advised.

I doubt many of our supporters eat at Bueno Taco as it is.
