Trying to get this out to as many people in Craig's area as possible--sent this letter to the editor of the largest local paper. We'll see if it gets printed.

Senator Larry Craig is co-sponsoring S237, the AgJobs guest worker/amnesty bill that was introduced last year as part of the larger, failed comprehensive immigration/amnesty bill. Senator Craig wants to grant amnesty to 1,500,000 illegal aliens plus their spouses and minor children after a 5 year period of temporary “blue card” legal status, while employed in the agricultural sector. The bill gives a pathway to citizenship to millions who have entered our country illegally and taken jobs from Americans. It grants amnesty to those who have broken the law to employ them.

It is a myth to say that illegal aliens are “doing jobs” Americans won’t do, and it insults American workers. Illegal aliens are doing jobs Americans won’t do because of the wage suppression that results from having illegals employed as cheap labor. This form of backdoor amnesty that Senator Craig proposes only entices hundreds of thousands of new illegals to enter the United States to compete with American workers for American jobs with the subsequent suppression of wages.

The illegal alien problem should be solved by attrition through enforcement and the resultant self-deportation. Instead, Senator Craig wants to reward and make citizens of those who have broken US laws.
