AILA:There He Goes Again, Sessions & E-Verify (oh boy)

Interesting how the other side sees it. Using such words as "stealth", slyly, sneak attack... when we all know the tactics Reid used against E-verify.

There He Goes Again--Sessions and E-Verify
Senator Sessions cannot leave his hands off of E-Verify. Now in "stealth" mode, Senator Sessions has slyly introduced an E-Verify amendment (SB 1371) during today's full Senate vote on the DHS appropriations bill.

The Sessions amendment calls for a permanent reauthorization of the Basic Pilot/E-Verify program, and mandates its use for all federal contractors and subcontractors - including the verification of all existing employees. This amounts to a massive expansion of a program that is still not ready for prime-time.

We must call our Senators and tell them to oppose this sneak attack by Senator Sessions for the following reasons:

It would impose exorbitant costs on businesses at a time when our economy is most vulnerable:

An economic analysis commissioned by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce
concluded that the net societal costs of the program would be $10 billion a year
    – a cost that would be felt disproportionately by small businesses.

It would make Basic Pilot/E-Verify permanent without addressing its well documented database inaccuracies:

A 2007 independent evaluation of the program commissioned by DHS found that
the Basic Pilot/E-Verify database “is still not sufficiently up to dateâ€

I support E-Verify and Sen. Sessions! Horray!

I think Sen. Sessions is great! What is this fool organization ( AILA) talking about? Of course, we want employers to use E-Verify and hire Americans only.

Agreed! He is speaking on CSPAN right NOW about his amendment and setting up the vote. Asking why his colleagues are reluctant...

The vote was 53 to 44 to keep the amendment. Looks as if we won this round. But being the cynic I am I suspect those as Baucus and Klobachar who are open borders proponents probably were told by Reid to vote this way so they could show some democrats support employing Americans probably knowing the amendment may be stripped from the House-Senate compromise when it gets to that point. I don't believe many Democrats supported the amendment out of the goodness of their hearts. It is all about votes for them and open borders and cheap labor for their business, union and chamber of commerce masters. They now are voting on securing the border with additional fencing.

The vote is in for the fencing.....54 to 44 to keep the amendment. I still think there is maneuvering going on behind the scenes especially with Schumer and other democrats who don't believe in border security and supporting unemployed Americans. I have a nasty feeling this and e-verify which will be stripped from the compromise will happen during the dead of night. I don't trust any of those snakes masquerading as representatives of the American people. They don't and never will give a horse's ass about the American people. They are owned by unions, the Mexican government, the drug cartels, big labor, corporations and the Chamber of Commerce. Did anyone hear about Napolitano's phoney baloney statement about implementing e-verify? This supposedly would be an executive order which would be subject to revisions, limitations and revocation. What a crock of sh!t.........
