    Okay, what I believe happened is that Reid's bill got killed. Now they can bring up the House bill. We better hope the House bill fails in the Senate, which Numbers is saying will come up next week.

    If Reid brings up a vote for cloture of the House version, does that mean he can then take it to the president without going through the senate? I AM SO CONFUSED.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but by bringing up the House bill Reid hopes to bypass any conference committee. This is what happened with Obamacare. He'll still have to win 60 votes for cloture, but if he succeeds then all he has to do is win a majority vote for DREAM, which would happen in that scenario, then send it to Obama.

    We need to make a fuss about the fact that the Senate will vote for the House version of the DREAM act "As is" without amending it or debating it.

    The Senate has to do this in order to bypass reconciliation.

    Many senators would oppose it on the grounds that the process is corrupt.

    He needs 60 votes (Senate rules). But only one vote session. Not two as before.

    60 YES votes are needed to pass House DREAM act "AS is" after that it goes straight to Obama to sign.
