Updated today at 11:19 AM
A small single-engine plane crashed into a building in Northwest Austin Thursday morning, sparking a fire.
The crash happened near MoPac and Highway 183 just before 10 a.m.
Smoke could be seen pouring from the a building in the Echelon complex on traffic cameras and in photographs send in by KVUE viewers and reporters.
KVUE’s Noelle Newton reports most of the windows are blown out. People were evacuated. At least 3 people have been taken to University medical Center at Brackenridge. A witness told KVUE that it didn't appear the plane was having any trouble before it crashed, but it was flying very low.
Some witnesses reported that they thought the plane was headed for their building. Witnesses say the impact felt like an explosion.
Firefighters say they have made several rescues, but so far two people are unaccounted for.
Officials said there were reports an FBI field office was housed in the complex, but it was not hit. They say this appears to be accidental. A number of businesses are located in the building that was hit.
Traffic in the area is being diverted.
KVUE News has multiple crews on the scene, and KVUE's Olga Campos and Melissa Gale are on the air. Tune to KVUE News for live coverage.

According to the ongoing Fox news, his house was lit on fire by himself, he left a 6 page rant about the IRS, and it appears it may have been an intentional crash into that building.
Apparently this man was disturbed, greatly, however, you all know what this could bring about for those of us involved here and with the Tea Party movement.....Again DHS could turn their focus to those who are fed-up with the government and working toward changes. Anyone and everyone involved could become targets of a government already out of control, willing to find their "whipping boy"."In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, Brave, Hated, and Scorned. By Claudia Grisales | Thursday, February 18, 2010, 12:52 PM
Fire crews responded this morning to a fire at the home of a person who owned a plane that crashed into a Northwest Austin office building.
The house, in the 1800 block of Dapplegrey Lane close to Parmer Lane and Metric Boulevard, was owned by Andrew Joseph Stack, records show.
There were no injuries in the blaze, and the house is total loss, officials said.
Dane Vick, whose home is behind Stack’s house, said he called 911 around 8 a.m. to report the house fire. He described it as an explosion. “I heard a humongous boom,â€

James62, it appears you are right. Apparently he wrote a manifesto which has been removed, but thesmokinggun.com took it. My apologies:
FEBRUARY 18--The man suspected of intentionally crashing an airplane into a Texas office building today appears to have posted a lengthy online diatribe attacking the Internal Revenue Service and declaring that, "I know I'm hardly the first one to decide I have had all I can stand." The six-page manifesto, which you'll find below, is dated "2/18/10" and is signed "Joe Stack (1956-2010)." Andrew Joseph Stack, 53, has been identified as the man who flew a small plane into an Austin building housing IRS offices. The statement was uploaded to the front page of a web site that was registered in 2003 by a Joe Stack, who listed an address in San Marcos, Texas, which is about 35 miles south of Austin. The online posting is titled "Well Mr. Big Brother IRS man... take my pound of flesh and sleep well." Cached versions of Stack's web site, which described his software development consulting business, noted that he founded the firm in southern California in 1983, and eventually relocated to the Austin area to "lend a hand to the growing high technology industry in South-Central Texas." Alex Melen, whose firm hosts Stack's site, told TSG that Stack last changed his web site this morning at 10:12 AM (Eastern). His Piper Cherokee crashed into the Austin building at around 11:30 AM (Eastern). Until Stack uploaded his suicide note, his site consisted of a handful of pages describing his business, Embedded Art, and its history. A screen grab of the previous front page of Stack's site, which he backed up Tuesday afternoon, can be seen here. Melen said that Stack paid his annual hosting fee with a credit card, and last year changed his billing address from San Marcos to an address on North Mopack Expressway in Austin. Prior to speaking with TSG, Melen said he had been contacted by FBI agents in Austin and New Jersey, where his hosting business is located. At 2:40 PM today, Melen deleted Stack's web site at embeddedart.com. He replaced it with a statement noting that, "This web site has been taken offline due to the sensitive nature of the events that transpired in Texas this morning and in compliance with a request from the FBI."

BTW, Melena here is a good example that not all terrorists are muslims.Don't think about all the things you fear, just be glad you're here.
