What will it be like 5 years from now?

I often wonder if something concrete isn't done, and done soon, about the illegal problem what will it be like in 5 years.I see patchwork legislation being attempted everyday. Some pass, some don't.I see illegals dropping anchor babies like there is no tomorrow, which will give them and the rest of the family a lawsuit- worthy claim as to why they shouldn't be deported.
I see neighborhoods that just 2 years ago were filled with single people and young American families now becoming spray-paint covered blights with unkempt yards and houses.

I don't see any real headway being made.Sorry to sound so depressed but I can't help but wonder-can we sustain even 5 more years of this? When will it end?

    Rawhide,

I ask myself the same question. And only time will tell. One thing is for certain. This fight is heating up, with both sides becoming more resolute in their/our convictions of what is right for the future of the United States.

We anti-illegal immigration advocates DO have the law on our side; however, for some reason, it seems the rule of law is being trumped by anarchists with a very well-defined agenda of open borders, multi-culturism, socialism, and globalism.

This is an upward battle, but I think we can win. I have to believe that, or I wouldn't sleep at night.

I agree the future doesn't look to bright at this point. I see white american girls out and about with a latino looking baby on the hip and guess who is following close behind... You got it. Miguel Alejandro Sanchez!
And I think to myself what are these girls thinking? And then it dawns on me. They are not thinking. They don't have a clue!

A-cowed,thinking someone will call them a racist.

B-asleep at the wheel, not effected by it yet

C-brainwashed by the 'no human is illegal' crowd

Chin up Rawhide!!! I know how you feel. It gets to everybody.....how could it not?

But, we have hope and as I told someone not too long ago, look around for small changes. Look for changes in staff at fast food, and other, places where you know most of the workforce are illegals, pay attention to who is leaving your neighborhood, look for businesses catering to illegals being not so busy, closing down, and not as many, if any, opening. Notice if their presence in stores is dropping off, maybe not so many vehicles in the parking lots of bars and clubs they frequent........things like that. The changes might be small right now, but they are there, and they'll get bigger, much more noticeable.

Try not to get discouraged....just remember, we're the ones who are right and we will win. We'll even eventually restore our ruined neighborhoods.....after all, London recovered quite nicely after the Blitz, didn't it?

I see no signs yet that the illegals are self-deporting at a greater rate than they are entering, but that may be about to change. If we can really dry up the job market for illegal labor, as well as otherwise make their existence here a little less comfortable (especially at the local and state level), there's a reasonable chance at least half of them, perhaps more, will leave on their own. If in addition, we can retake our government from the current lot of traitors in 2008, things should be looking better about eighteen months down the road. Those are the positives.

There are some possible negatives. A "made up" recession, deliberately created by our government, could turn some momentum against us, and it's a possibility that cannot be ruled out. Presumably, some of the criminal and subversive element among the illegals, may choose not to go quietly but instead resist, possibly with considerable violence. That has the potential to ignite widespread civil conflict in America; it may not be the most likely scenario (let us hope) but it cannot be totally discounted.

One wild card in the deck is the possibility of a serious act of terrorism, in which it is found that the terrorists got here through Mexico, possibly with the connivance of some part of the Mexican government. Not terribly likely but certainly possible, and public reaction to it, while possibly turning even more sentiment to our cause initially, could give an already power hungry government the excuse to finish tearing up the constitution, potentially ushering in a police state. Given our current president's view of the constitution, "nothing but a G_Damned piece of paper", I think he said, some sort of seizure of power might be expected in such a scenario. Not too pleasant to contemplate!

Overall, the possibilities are a very mixed bag; however, at the moment, I am cautiously optimistic. We have the law, and the moral high ground on our side, and that is no small advantage. We do have some indication that the tide may be turning, though not so swiftly as we might like, in our favor. Let's remain hopeful, but cautious, until we have a clearer picture of how all these things may play out.

It has been reported here that there are fewer and I am not going to argue, because what might be happening in one part of the country will not necessarily be happening everywhere.

That was the case with the flood. While Texs, AZ, and CA were being inundated with them, many parts of the country were not. That led to people simply deciding there was no problem - until it reached them.

Hopefully, the backward flood is just that same way. Just hope the border states are not the bottleneck - and more don't get too comfortable here.

Personally, I haven't seen anything about the new rules that could not be circumvented and I think it will.

It is possible the local efforts are having much more to do with the illegals leaving an area than anything the federal government is trying so hard NOT to do.

It is possible the bad economic news, etc., may be having more to do with fewer illegals working than anything else. The government is not above using it for their own agenda.

We could make it happen for sure, but we have to get together. Nothing wrong with pushing our governments - but we need to do more ourselves.

I understand the "job magnet" part. It needs time, especially since the illegals will have atleast 90 days before they are fired. If they are. I think a great impact would be if we stopped the federal money going to the families. If we stopped them from getting SS, welfare, free health care, food stamps, etc. My goodness, some of these families are raking in a lot of our tax money and they drive around in these new very expensive trucks and cars. I don't qualify for anything and drive an 87 toyota! I can't afford anything newer, I have to pay for theirs. And stop the anchor baby law so we don't keep adding more. We end up raising these children. They are not Americans. If both parents are citizens of another country, so is that baby. Geez, I hate slow turning wheels.

Stopping all the federal freebies is a must, as many many illegals are women coming here who never intend to work a day. They just start having children and collecting the benefits.
