Well, now he's got plenty of it: the spotlight of Rep. John Conyers and the House Judiciary Committee. They want Sheriff Joe investigated by the Department of Justice for his appalling, unjust law enforcement tactics-- just like the 3,500 of you who've already signed our petition!

On Friday the Judiciary Committee sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, saying:

"We write today concerning allegations of misconduct on the part of Maricopa County, Arizona, Sheriff Joe Arpaio that we believe merit federal investigation and action."

It's obvious that Arpaio's latest publicity stunt crosses the line. On February 4th, he rounded up hundreds of immigrant detainees and forced them to march, shackled, through Phoenix to a segregated "tent city" surrounded by electric fencing in the Arizona desert.

Thousands of you have already signed our letter to the Attorney General, calling for an investigation into Joe's abuse of power. Thousands have denounced Joe's blatant racial profiling and civil rights violations. But with this week' s big news from the Judiciary Committee, and with major events being organized across the country to protest Arpaio, we believe it's time to do more.

Under Sheriff Joe's jurisdiction, real criminals get away scot-free while hard-working immigrants live in perpetual fear. There are 40,000 outstanding warrants for real felons gathering dust on Joe's desk. Meanwhile, Arpaio's posse sweeps low-crime, Latino neighborhoods and stars in botched reality TV shows that make a mockery of law enforcement.

There have been over 2,700 lawsuits filed against Arpaio. Now, as Sheriff Joe completes his latest tirade -- rounding up immigrants and segregating them in electrified holding pens in the desert -- we cannot, and will not, stand silent.

We're joining with the House Judiciary Committee and human and civil rights advocates across the country to make sure Joe gets what he deserves. As we said, we're collecting 10,000 signatures to make sure that the Justice Department gets the message.

What is any different then if they were in a prison that would cost millions of dollars and surrounded by several layers of fencing and RAZOR WIRE and armed guards in towers. You are still incarcerated!

so you call yourself america's voice?! Let me make it clear, you do not in any way, shape, or form speak for me or the other Americans who demand that amnesty not be granted to illegal alien lawbreakers. What part of you dont speak for me and you don't represent my thougts do you not understand?
How do you figure that america wants immigration reform or wants to let some 30 million illegal alien lawbreakers from every country in the world stay here, kill americans, steal or buy forged ID's, frauduently obtain jobs, welfare and food stamps along with getting free medical and schooling. Hell, Southern California has closed over 150 hospitals in the last 7-8 years because they are going broke giving FREE CARE TO UNDOCUMENTED people.
How do you figure that I should allow lawbreakers like this in my country?

DO you think its okay for illegal alien gang members to be going around killing americans? Rep. King did a study of the amount of deaths at the hands of the illegals, and it came out before the 06 elections. it found out that based on data available, on average 12 americans were killed each day by an illegal in a criminal act.another 13 a day were killed by illegals under the influence.
Do you think its okay that the american people should have to put up with illegals raping children under the age of 15? Like the little idaho girl raped about two years ago by the illegal who was her mother's boyfriend. Or the many other children that have been victimized by these people who are breaking US LAW?
Do you think my taxes for my county hospital should be going up because its losing so much money due to the illegals??? Want to pay my bill on that? if you say no, I knew you would. You just dont understand why america has had enough of these lawbreakers.

IS YOUR ORGANIZATION WANTS TO PAY EVERY DAMN HOSPITAL BILL, Pay every tax payer who has been victimized by these illegals... because this is one taxpayer (and i know i speak for more than 80 percent of americans) we are tired of getting screwed
