During an interview with CNN, anti-Communist icon and former Polish President Lech Walesa said that America no longer leads the world and that President Obama has proven to be a dangerous disappointment.
Walesa is famous for his pivotal role in securing the collapse of the Communist regime in Poland thanks to his activism as a dissident trade-union leader and was later elected President in 1990. His life story is the topic of a major Academy Award-nominated motion picture entitledWalesa: Man of Hope.Asked how he thought Obama was performing as a world leader, Walesa responded, “When he was elected there was great hope in the world, we were hoping Obama would reclaim moral leadership for America, but that failed.”“America does not lead the world in the area of morality….economically it’s getting weaker, but in terms of politics and morality, America no longer leads the world,” added Walesa. The Nobel Peace Prize winner explained that Obama’s failure to reclaim America’s moral authority has created a dangerous imbalance in the world that could have led to bigger global conflicts than have been witnessed.“It’s a dangerous situation so we are awaiting a president who will understand that,” he said.

Obama’s a dangerous disappointment to world, ex-president of Poland tells CNN

Former Polish President Lech Walesa said that although President Obama’s entry onto the world stage was accompanied by hope, he has turned out to be a dangerous disappointment as a leader.
“When he was elected… there was great hope,” Walesa told CNN. “We were hoping Obama would reclaim moral leadership for America,” adding: “That failed.”
Walesa, the 1983 Nobel Peace Prize recipient, was being interviewed by CNN for a spot that aired Wednesday. The famous anti-communist is now the subject of a major motion picture, “Walesa: Man of Hope.”
“In terms of politics and morality, America no longer leads the world,” he said. “America did not regain its leadership status. We were just lucky there were no big conflicts in the world.”
A strong America had always provided a balance of power to the world, Walesa said.
“It’s a dangerous situation, so we are awaiting a president who will understand that,” he said.
After President Obama’s disappointing first term, the 70-year-old Walesa effectively threw his support to Republican nominee Mitt Romney in the 2012 election.
“I wish you to be successful because this success is needed to the United States, of course, but to Europe and the rest of the world, too,” Walesa was heard saying after meeting Romney in Poland, The Weekly Standard reported at the time. “Gov. Romney, get your success — be successful!”

Famous Anti-Communist Leader Lech Walesa: Because of Obama, “America No Longer Leads The World”…
Written By : John Hawkins
January 2, 2014
Lech Walesa was one of the men who stood up to Communism, so he’s certainly not afraid to tell the truth about the damage Barack Obama is doing to America’s standing in the world.
Most Americans have focused on Obama’s horrible domestic policies, since they’re destroying the country, but his foreign policy is just as bad. Obama is weak, confused, punishes America’s friends and rewards her enemies. He’s a disaster and his many failures will reverberate long after he’s left office.
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning former president of Poland, Lech Walesa, says President Obama has failed to reclaim America’s role as a world leader.
“When he was elected… there was great hope,” Walesa said. “…. we were hoping Obama would reclaim moral leadership for America,” adding: “That failed.”
“…. in terms of politics and morality, America no longer leads the world,” he said. “…America did not regain its leadership status. We were just lucky there were no big conflicts in the world,” saying the world has relied on a strong America to maintain the balance of power around the globe.
“… It’s a dangerous situation so we are awaiting a president who will understand that,” he said.

Nobel Prize Winning Anti-Communist Icon: Obama Has Failed Politically And Morally

In aninterview with CNN that aired Wednesday, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning former president of Poland, Lech Walesa, says Barack Obama has failed to reclaim America’s role as a world leader.
Walesa — who supported Mitt Romney in the 2012 election — said the Obama administration has been a dangerous disappointment:
“When he was elected…there was great hope…we were hoping Obama would reclaim moral leadership for America. That failed.Walesa said the world has relied on a strong America to maintain the balance of power around the globe.
[I]n terms of politics and morality, America no longer leads the world. America did not regain its leadership status. We were just lucky there were no big conflicts in the world.”
“It’s a dangerous situation so we are awaiting a president who will understand that.”As reported by NewsMax, Walesa went from a shipyard electrician to a union leader who helped overthrow the communist government in Poland, winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983, and seven years later, becoming the first democratically elected president in Poland.
So, Walesa and Obama have two things in common: winning the Nobel Peace Prize and being elected president of their respective countries. While Lech Walesa’s Peace Prize was awarded based on courageous and heroic accomplishments, the newly-elected Obama received his Nobel Peace Prize based upon the belief (by some) that he would, in his words, “heal the planet” and “stop the oceans’ rise.”
As President Walesa correctly pointed out, none of those things has happened.
