American PhD Students are barred from holding down academic
India's Som Mittal is quoted all over, including this dice.com forum, about the 60 percent figure of American PhD students being foreign born. Yet, the practice at many universities and research institutions is to bring in foreign born PhD students and postdocs to replace American PhD's. There are no shortages of Americans wanting to get PhD's, there are are only artificial barriers set up by the US government to bring in more foreigners and shove aside Americans.

[i] Commenting on the issue, Som Mittal, President of India’s National Association of Software and Service Cos., said that he was concerned about the legislation sharply restricting the hiring of foreign workers by domestic and overseas companies operating in the United States.
> Mittal also said that such a decision to restrict foreign high-tech workers would only harm the U.S. economy rather than help it.
“> It’s a business killer for us. Sixty percent of all technology Ph.D.s are foreign nationals. The visa requirement could be detrimental to the U.S. economy. You do want to retain the best and brightest,â€

Sorta sounds like National Lampoon, bunch of party seeking dumb Americans going to college.
Take back America, the America you envision. Throw the TV out the window, with it goes billions of dollars of advertising and social engineering. Or....deal with it and laugh along the way.
Perhaps some of the American Idol contestants will be accepted into a Phd program?
Better yet, give your TV to a foreign born Phd student.
Is Hollywood's version of America your version? It should be, billions of dollars have been spent for your mind to melt to their vision, some of you are stubborn, but time is on their side.
While millions of Americans are watching TV and becoming educated, millions of foreigners are invading America. "Honey.........bring me another beer!" "That's Entertainment."
TV and Hollywood are financed by subscription and advertising, where is your contribution?
A one month cable bill will buy atleast 2 ounces of silver maybe three, per month! Five years ago perhaps 10 ounces per month.
