I agree with letter writer Mindy Long about Kennedy being unknown in California.

There are so many nonwhite Third World immigrants in California that there is little institutional memory of 20th century America, including even such dramatic events as the as the Kennedy brothers’ assassinations.

For several years I worked in a kidney dialysis clinic two blocks from the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles where Robert Kennedy was killed.

As far as I knew, I was the only white in the clinic; including both patients and staff. I may have been the only American in the 27-story high-rise in which the clinic was located.

Today, no Americans work in the area. It’s now known as Koreatown, but includes many other ethnicities.

The Ambassador, once a landmark, has been torn down and a Los Angeles Unified School District high school is under construction.

Like every other California public school, it will serve a 99 percent immigrant population who have no idea what they owe to the Kennedy family for making it possible for them to migrate to the U.S. legally and then giving them affirmative action privileges.

California and the rest of America will forever pay the price of the 1965 Immigration Act which Kennedy vigorously fought for.

And yet, still nothing stops them comming in droves, nothing, not a recession, high native unemployment, nothing...

A presidential amnesty proposal WILL bring this issue to the forefront, hopefully the teaparties will protest on this issue.

Bammy can't be looking forward to the Amnesty fight. Its going to get ugly for them soon!

A lot of Obots have already jumped ship, they are disillusioned because Bammy can't deliver on his promises and his freebee economic policies aren't working especially when it comes to new job creation. Let there be a few more months of bad job statistics and Bammy could find himself in Bushland when it comes to approval ratings. Of course anybody with half a brain could have predicted that. But when you're just here to get whatever the system can give for free you don't care about common sense. history or anything else. Reason goes out the window.

You've just described the "perfect" liberal.

Justthatguy, so true. Libs were in a state of euphoria when Obama won. They were sure he was "The One" (oh yes, my husbands liberal supervisor in a warehouse even stated he felt sure Obama was the "Chosen One"!).

Now he is proving to be a speech making dismal failure. Sure, he can speak, but oh so many others can. He says what people want to hear, but parrots do not make good leaders.

We no longer need a Republican or a Democrat for president, we need a REAL leader, and one who is not afraid to say he/she will put Americans first and American interests first.

It will happen folks, we can be sure. I firmly believe so many of those Obama followers will jump ship and wake up, realize what is happening and vote with their brains next time.
