    Most businesspeople, when faced with the inevitability of a rising cost start looking for some other way to reduce their expenses. Of course it is very hard initially to comply with a law when others are not and are getting away with it. The growers association should be helping farmers to comply.

    Also churches, if they are going to get involved in immigration issues, could help supply the housing and health requirements that the growers have to implement. I wonder if they would be as persistent in pitching in, in this way, as they are in helping people on the streets---or at the day labor centers.
