I don't think its that Americans are stupid... but that they are self absorbed in their own daily lives and struggles. Most simply don't bother reading between the lines and accept what they are told, thats actually a very scary thought. Keep in mind the non-stop manipultive propaganda that Big Business and the Mainstream Media are constantly putting out as fact. Its along the lines of Orwell's 1984 New-Speak.

Self absorption is a form of stupidity.


You have to look outside once in a while, its not all centered upon "self."

They wouldn't be able to survive with just that mentality.

It is not that they are dumb, they are ignorant of the facts. 75% of the people probably have no clue of the facts you just mentioned. Heck.. Maybe more than 75%...

Politicians are not dumb either.. they have an agenda....

When the government provides the education, facts that highlight their incompetence or lesser natures are usually left out of the curriculums.

Mainly it's just ignorance that affects Americans, but the problem is compacted by pride...A lot of people just can't admit they were ever wrong about anything.
