President Bush has spoken forcefully and correctly of the folly in recently passed military funding bills that include timelines for withdrawal of American troops from Iraq.

With the exception of Democrats and a few out of touch RINOs here and there, most people realize that timelines are foolish signals of surrender that tell the enemy of America's dwindling commitment to victory, and the "date certain" by which said commitment will expire completely.

To his credit, the president vetoed the bill sent to him that included timelines.

The big question is: Why is this president unable to connect the dots and understand that amnesty for illegal aliens makes no more sense than timelines for terrorists?

Amnesty, as history proves, simply motivates additional millions of uneducated peasants to invade our nation and to plunder American taxpayers.

It tells millions of Mexicans in waiting that America will not enforce its borders or immigration laws, and that invasion can be undertaken with impunity.

In 1986, amnesty was granted for about three million illegal aliens.

30 years and 12-30 million illegal aliens later, America has a much larger problem to deal with, and because of 9/11, a far more dangerous problem.

Just as timelines work against American interests in the war on terror, so it is that amnesty would work against American interests in the war to prevent the illegal invasion of this great nation.

Amnesty never has worked and never will!

The solution is to secure our borders and deport all illegal aliens! NOW!

Very good way to put that saveamerica. I have been trying to convey the severity of an amnesty action and this does it well.

You are exactly right. Amnesty is a black and white issue just as timelines are --- you either do it or you don't --- it is critically harmful to do an amnesty -- we cannot do an amnesty

It is absolutely disgusting to see Bush's white house minions going around badgering Senators and Congressmen -- hanging over their shoulders with threats -- 'you better do what the Prez says'.


The White Houses's Secretary Cherthoff and Secretary Gutierrez are making misleading statements and cheerleading deception. Secretary Cherthoff has publicly stated opposition to building the Border fence when meeting with Texas Border Sheriffs in March 2007. The legislation's 6,000 more Border Patrol Agents won’t matter when they are not allowed to do their job, when they are undermined and unjustly prosecuted such as Agents Ramos and Compean. Mr. Cherthoff has stated on the Homeland Security website that he wants a "safe Border" rather than a secure Border. Mr. Cherthoff recently commented that the Border Patrol should not be going after 'maids, nannies or landscapers' (which by the way is the job that some heads of household won't do) which is to say that no control of numbers of entry is regarded. Recent reports of Homeland Security Dept. fraud and lost immigration records indicates inability to handle an immense "guest-worker" program. Both Cherthoff and Gutierrez are doing corporate bidding to have unlimited immigration of supply of wage depressing foreign labor -- which is excessive. Now there is the 'Z nonimmigrant visa' that is allowed for travel, hence back and forth running across the Border for whatever reason will be allowed -- how may of these are going to be given out?? --an unlimited number for a wide open unsecure Border?? -- Hence Border security won't matter if it is wide open. Cherthoff is a signer in enacting the Security & Prosperity Partnership with Mexico and Canada that ultimately erases U.S. Borders. The U.S. will become a bankrupt sinking refugee ship.
