Immigration Reform by September 2009

Civil rights activits calculate that immigration reform, after Obama takes office, will be possible in September of 2009.

An immigration reform bill in the United States, where two consecutive times it failed in 2006 and 2007, could be a reality on September of 2009, coincided activists this Thursday.

"We trust and we are very optimists that it is possible that there will be a great period of approval between September of 2009 and March of 2010", explained Frank Sharry, director of the pro-reform group America' s Voice, in a telephone conference with other experts.

"I believe that that would be a good time period, between 2009 and early 2010, simply because there are no federal elections and besides, it is really important for us to resolve this in a moment in which we do not have excessive rhetoric regarding immigration reform circulating", said the archbishop of Los Angeles, Roger Mahony.
