Bleeding Heart Editorial in the Arizona Rebublic:

Forget legality for a minute and remember humanity

Here's a question for those who carp about an "invasion" of "illegal" immigrants: What part of "human being" don't you understand? The Border Patrol recovered the bodies of 154 illegal border crossers in the Tucson Sector from Oct. 1 through July 31. These were human beings who wanted to work for us. Those who dismiss them as nothing more than "illegals" use a sliding scale to value human life and dignity. That's not how a great nation does things.

Ms Valdez

Why can’t you blame the real culprit for all these death? It’s the Mexican government not recognizing the law of the United States. They send their people here to work and will not at least trying to create jobs in the own country. I would be willing to bet that most of the people coming into the US to work (illegally) for us would much rather stay home. Stop the crap, it’s not our fault, blame your beloved Mexico. Is Mexico not a great nation? Let them handle their own problem for a change.

Dearest Linda Valdez,

I can tell you take great pride in your use of emotional tugs to prove flawed logic, otherwise you wouldn't allow such drival to be posted or published. To encourage ignoring a Nation's laws, presumining that you know what someone else 'wants' (versus needs), and then returns to the call upon the previously noted National Greatness is hypocritical at best.

'Working for us' is the biggest lie though. They are here to work for themselves and those that need to hire them to increase profit(s). I personally figure into that equation only via having paid into the soocial structure illegals find necessary to be able to work for less (no investment required), undercut wages, and rely on our bought and paid for medical, safety, education, transportation, and legal systiems. This gainis us the honor of watching $4 billion per year wire and bank transfered eah annum to Mexican 'home' - enough to pay for another coyote guided family member per man/woman/child 'illegal' to come here. Using your rationale and current business models there will be nearly 25 million illegals here within five years

If you are really supportive of the American way for all folks Mexican, then shouldn't we move the border south and assimilate the southern European descendants into a a country that is over-whelmingly of northern Euro descent? It is what another 'Union' across the Atlantic is about after all.

No, a great nation controls its borders. A great nation holds its corporations responsible for obeying the law. And how many of the dead just wanted to sell drugs? How can we know?
