    BEER AND BRATWURST RELAX TIME

In the spirit of multi culturalism , I am celebrating my heritage tonight , I will do so with beer and grilled bratwurst and potato salad , Dinner is at 5 if you can make it , (I grill the brats , simmer them in beer and butter and have them on a hard roll with mustard , pickles and onions)
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Feel free to let us know your heritage and how you celebrate it
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm going to start with a very rare live cut , This is Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings of the Guess Who.
This is from a recent reunion tour

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRVauDrX ... re=related

Cummings is one of the premier vocalists of the last 50 years
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is an ongoing battle of just how good Eric Clapton really is
As a guitar player I put forth that Claptons true talent is as a writer and not a blazing guitarist

    Stevie Windwood ,
This song brings visions of Islamic terrorists to me

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oawvP0EHZo

Its still a good song , A weird concept that you won't hear anyone
    doing today

How many of you knew Kenny Rogers started out as an acid rocker?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZ8k6fVe25k

Kenny Rogers and the first edition were rockers before he went country
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was the classic UNDERGROUND music of the 60s

this is the first rendition of evil devil worship music

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOErZuzZpS8

Did you know Carl Palmer of Emerson , Lake and Palmer was the drummer for this band ?

Now fast forward to the 80s and Merciful Fate
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r92aLmWazuM

    Same thing , different time
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    From the oldies vault
This band was only second to the Beatles for hit songs

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yrrch43CweU

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AH1JEI79 ... re=related

They had a killer driving sound
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably the best overall vocalist of the 60s

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cw0xsuUK9u0

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLaz2fFtqiM

Of course I would put Gary Puckett on equal standing with Jay Black
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sFy5_kmEi4

Jay Black was not the original Jay , but he had the hits and in my opinion the best voice

The 50s and 60s were all about the vocals , something we are sadly lacking in todays music
    Just as honorable mention

    Glenn Cambell
Glen is a fantastic singer and supreme guitarist , but this focuses on his vocal talent

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiWtrepZ ... re=related
(This is a fantastic song , notice it is done as a "waltz")
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As much slag as he takes , I am still a huge Barry Manilow fan, I'm sorry if I tarnished your opinion of me , The guy had a style and talent that was brutal , If this doesn't move you to tears , your not human

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GK8-gZVkYsk

    His masterpiece
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-fev20voMc
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel I am blessed , I can hear all parts of music , I span the ages
Without music there is nothing , One can not like rap , or soul , or heavy metal , but there is good and bad , you have to separate the wheat from the chaff

"I AM MUSIC , AND I WRITE THE SONGS"

    The greatest lyric ever written

    ENJOY

    Encore

    From a comment section

"Ah Barry, what must you make of the modern day music?

To go from The Who, to Justin Biber

    From Eretha Franklin to Ke$ha

from Muddy Waters to 50 Cent....

    Music is dead...."

    Nuff said

This is a repeat for those that have not heard it or are new to
    friday relax time

In my opinion this is the greatest female vocalist alive today
    Lisa Kelly of Celtic woman

If you want to hear what heaven will sound like

You have to get through the Ice fall to just get to base camp

In the old days it was an 18 day hike just to get to the ice fall and start
