GOP Able to Force New Plan Through?

As I closely look at the voting record on the recent McCain-Kennedy bill that the Judical Comittee passed I notice some thing very disturbing. Not one sigle Republican voted 'Yes' for it. In fact baring Senator Jeffords (I-VT), all of the Yea's were Democrats. Just before the vote the GOP announced their own plan on immigration which still includes a guest worker program, and it seems that all of their members immediately dropped support for the current bill. Even those who passed it through the Judiciary Committe, even it's co-sponsor Senator John McCain (R-AZ).

Could this mean that the GOP plans to force their own plan down our throats? If you look at the numbers 5 Democrats voted "Nay" and one abstained from voting. If this subject splits down the party lines, minus the one independent senator (we need more independent thinkers in there) and we would have 55 "Yea" votes from the GOP and 44 "Nay" votes from the Democratic party. It is my guess that the independent vote will still go with the guest worker program so if we add him in then its 56-44, im sure that means the measure passes correct?

Or even more disasterous let us assume that all the current "Yea" votes stay that way because it is thier honest feeling and only the 6 democrats who voted "Nay" or abstained vote nay then the measure will pass by a landslide of 94-6.

I pray that this is not the case. It is my hope that many of the GOP Senators who voted "Nay" did so because they disagree with the 'Guest Worker Program' this next vote could be quiet close.

Start calling, writing, emailing and visiting your GOP Senators now because they are the only ones who can stop this madness.

If you watched what was going on, they monkeyed around with it adding so many perks for the illegals that no republican who wants his/her job DARED to vote for it-- not even the guy who co-authoured it (McCain.)

It still remains to be seen if we will get something forced on us or not. I'm hoping that since they don't know how to do their jobs that they will just insist that the laws we have will be enforced, that the fence/wall will go up and we will at least stop any more from coming while they figure out what to do with the ones who are here.
