All those who are so staunchly opposed to the Arizona Bill making it against the law for an alien not to have an Alien Registration card in their possession obviously have no clue that it simply mirrors a Federal law which is already on the books.

Sec. 264. [8 U.S.C. 1304]

(e) Every alien, eighteen years of age and over, shall at all times carry with him and have in his personal possession any certificate of alien registration or alien registration receipt card issued to him pursuant to subsection (d). Any alien who fails to comply with the provisions of this subsection shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall upon conviction for each offense be fined not to exceed $100 or be imprisoned not more than thirty days, or both.

Good find, Ice! Just like we have to carry a driver's license or other photo ID proving we can drive or proving our name and signature are the same on credit card slips we sign, there should be no exception for anyone to not provide lawful presence in this country.
Even in Germany in the 1970s, with my accented German, folks would ask for my "Ausweis, bitte" or passport please. No way I felt insulted. I was there legally and ended up teaching a lot of Germans recent American slang.

This is the insanity of all this crap...

1. The boarder laws and immigration laws are on the books and have been.

2. The requirements for POTUS have always been there....

BTW...the federal law is what Sheriff Joe is using here... The State can't touch Sheriffs.

Also BTW...it is against the law for ANYONE... to not have ID...
