U.S. Border Patrol agent opens fire on suspected illegal immigrant

CHULA VISTA - A U.S. Border Patrol agent opened fire on a suspected illegal immigrant near Otay Lakes today, but nobody was injured and the suspect remained at large, authorities said.

The agent, fearing for his life, fired one shot about 4:45 a.m. when the suspect picked up a rock and cocked back an arm as if to throw it at him, said Border Patrol Agent Wendi Lee.

Nobody was hurt and the suspect ran off, she said. The exact location of the incident was not immediately clear.


The alleged would-be rock thrower was one of eight suspected illegal immigrants the agent had spotted in the Otay Lakes area this morning, Lee said, adding that the seven other suspects were taken into custody for processing.

No further information was immediately released this morning.

I believe that our government needs to invest a few advertising dollars to run commercials in Mexico stating that if anyone crosses the border illegally, they will be at risk for being injured MOD EDIT

I would also tell them that throwing rocks could be dangerous to their helath!

Illegals are getting more violent. The more the president and democrats press the more illegals are crossing the border and the more violent they become. They know that our government will give them amnesty regardless of what they do to BP or if they bring drugs or humans into the country.

We are like damn fools in this country catering to every wish and demand coming out of Mexico. Fox, and now Caleron, must be getting a good laugh.

Agreed. I honestly think we should do what you said in an earlier post, but take it one step further and say an illegal crossing is considered an illegal invasion, and we will defend our country MOD EDIT

I know, I know that isn't PC is it. We should be welcoming of our friends to the South.
